Abstract:
A system and method for use during the administration of CPR chest compressions and defibrillating shock on a cardiac arrest victim. The system analyzes compression waveforms from a compression depth monitor to determine the source of chest compressions, and enables the delivery of defibrillating shock during a compression cycle if the compression waveforms are characteristic of an automated CPR chest compression device.
Abstract:
A skin care device is provided. The skin care device includes a hand piece and a tip which is mounted at a front end of the hand piece and is configured to peel impurities off the surface of a skin as the tip contacts the skin. In the center of a front end surface of the tip, there is provided an input hole through which face wash liquid is inputted toward a skin, and at an edge portion thereof, there is formed a suction hole for sucking and discharging the face wash liquid, and a groove-shaped flow passage for guiding the flow of the face wash liquid between the input hole and the suction hole is formed at a front end surface of the tip, and a vibrator is mounted at an inner side of the tip, thus concurrently supplying vibrations to the tip and the face wash liquid.
Abstract:
An acupressure device and methods for application of the acupressure device to appendages of the human body for therapy and/or the treatment of various ailments.
Abstract:
A walking assistance device configured to permit the independent movement of an individual via simulated weight reduction is described. The device is configured to partially suspend a portion of a user's weight via a seat-lifting system, facilitating the movement of a user with experiencing difficulty walking without assistance. The system of the device preferably employs a seat, a hydraulic or electric seat-lift mechanism, a seat restraint, a frame, wheels, a brake system, and a power source. The seat-lift mechanism is configured to rise and lower the seat, enabling the user to control the percentage of weight lifted, while the feet of the user remain in partial contact with the floor. The frame forms the structure and support of the device, and is configured to move laterally via wheels on the bottom of the frame of the device.
Abstract:
A skin and scalp massaging apparatus using acoustic pressure. A vibration member generates vibration using acoustic pressure induced when a sound source is generated. A vibration probe is coupled to the vibration member to receive vibration. The vibration probe has a detachably provided head having various purposes. The head is provided to massage skin or scalp. The vibration probe is coupled to a cone paper damper for generating vibration through a connection member to which the vibration member is coupled. The vibration probe is coupled to the cone paper damper of the vibration member, so that vibration is directly received, and thus, the vibration efficiency can be improved. Further, the head for the skin massage or the scalp massage is detachably provided on the vibration probe, and thus, can be used for various purposes of, for example, massaging skin, scalp, or the like.
Abstract:
A therapeutic massage system includes a cushion and a controller unit operably connected by tubing. The cushion has a therapy pad coupled to a support pad. The support pad includes a plurality of compartments that may be filled with microbeads or other supportive material that self-adjusts to conform to the contours of an individual's body. The therapy pad includes a plurality of selectively inflatable and deflatable channels. The controller unit includes a processor operably connected to a diverter for controlling the delivery of air to and exhausting of air from the channels of the therapy pad. The massage system can be customized to provide user-specific treatment.
Abstract:
In some embodiments, a kit may include systems allowing for clearing a biological airway. The kit may include an inner wearable system worn, during use, on a torso of a subject. The kit may include a plurality of engines which when activated apply an oscillation force to at least one treatment area of the subject. At least one of the plurality of engines may be releasably couplable to the inner wearable system. The oscillation force may be applied to at least one of the treatment areas of the subject such that the oscillation force mobilizes, during use, at least some secretions in an airway within the subject at least adjacent the treatment area. The kit may include an outer wearable system worn, during use, on a torso of a subject which when activated, adjusts the oscillation force. The kit may include one or more batteries and/or a control unit.
Abstract:
A leg support exoskeleton is strapped on as wearable device to support its user during squatting. The exoskeleton includes a knee joint connected to a first line and a second link, which is configured to allow flexion and extension motion between the first link and the second link. A force generator has a first end that is rotatably connected to the first link. A constraining mechanism is connected to the second link and has at least two operational positions. In a first operational position, the second end of the force generator engages the constraining mechanism, where the first link and the second link flex relative to each other. In a second operational position, the second end of the force generator does not engage the constraining mechanism; the first link and the second link are free to flex and extend relative to each other.
Abstract:
A manual apparatus of the present invention enables quick connection and disconnection of an exoskeleton leg from a remaining body of an exoskeleton. The apparatus comprises a cavity defined by a housing coupled to the remaining body of the exoskeleton; a latch coupled to the remaining body of the exoskeleton, the latch comprising a latching feature; a clip body including a projection element extending from an end thereof, the clip body coupled to the exoskeleton leg; a handle rotatably coupled to a clip base on the clip body; and a hook rotatably coupled to the handle. When the hook is engaged with the latching feature and the handle rotated from a first unlatched position to a second latched position, the projection element moves inside the cavity.
