The circuitry is configured to supply electrical energy inductively obtained by the circuitry to the light when the voltage multiplier is in the activated state. The light assembly can also include a housing, a lens cover releasably attached to the housing, and a control member for changing a characteristic of the light.
Abstract:
An electrostatic painting device capable of reducing any AC or electromagnetic emissions when the device is powered on is provided. The emissions affect electronic components present during painting of various objects or even when the device is powered on. The electromagnetic induction into the conductive circuit elements in turn induces voltages and currents, which potentially harm the micro-electronic circuits. One such device includes a choke between a fluid tip and a high voltage source of the device to reduce these emissions. The voltage source may include at least one capacitor which supplies the AC emissions representing electromagnetic emissions risk during the discharge of paint from the device. The choke connected to the voltage source substantially reduces the emissions involved during the paint discharge, while allowing the discharge of electrons, thereby imparting negative DC charge to the paint and the workpiece, and preventing damage to electronic circuits during the process.
Abstract:
An electrostatic atomizing coating apparatus and method incorporate a rotary head having a base portion, an open end and a plurality of grooves formed radially on an inner peripheral surface of the open end, an inside diameter of the rotary head increasing from the base portion toward the open end, and a motor configured to rotate the rotary head to discharge a thread-shaped paint. A voltage is applied to the rotary head so as to form an electrostatic field between the open end of the rotary head and an earthed coating target and to electrostatically atomize the thread-shaped paint discharged from the open end. Voltage output from the generator is controlled so as to adjust an intensity of the electrostatic field and to control a particle diameter of the electrostatically atomized thread-shaped paint.

In an example, an electrostatic spray module includes a base unit formed of a sturdy, rigid, liquid impermeable, electrically insulative material and a cover formed of a sturdy, rigid, liquid impermeable, electrically insulative material and sized for covering the base unit. The base unit and the cover configured for mating engagement together so as to form a liquid impermeable, electrically insulative, protective enclosure when the module is in a closed state to keep the internal components clean and dry and prevents high voltage shorting and prevents leakage of current by inhibiting a high voltage from establishing a return path to ground. The spray module includes a quick access latch and gasket system—with no tools required to open for maintenance. The module includes integral place holders for components including air supply manifold and variable voltage supply to provide a selectable high voltage level to accommodate various spraying application.
Abstract:
An electrostatic spray device for spraying a liquid coating product, including a rotating bowl and a device for driving the bowl around a rotational axis, the bowl defining a concave surface for distributing the coating product and an edge which limits an area for the spraying the coating product. The spray device includes an electrode that charges by ionization of drops of the coating product. The electrode is arranged, in relation to the edge and along the rotational axis, opposite the spray area, between the edge and the device for driving the bowl. A second electrode mounted on a stationary body allows the creation of an electrostatic field for transporting drops. A third electrode, which is also mounted on a stationary body, is brought to an intermediate potential between those of the first and second electrodes during the operation of the spray device.

Abstract:
A coating apparatus produces a spray of charged droplets and controls the spray angle of travel of the spray toward the object to be coated. Electrically charging droplets minimizes the amount of coating material required to uniformly coat a surface as compared to conventional web coating techniques such as blade coating. An inductive ring guides the spray charged droplets as they exit the nozzle of a spray device. The electrostatic repulsion between the charged droplets insures that a uniform coating of liquid formulation can be applied to a web surface.

Abstract:
A system for in-process orientation of particles used in direct-write inks for fabricating a component may include a device for polarizing direct-write particles in an aerosol. An outlet may direct the aerosol including the polarized direct-write particles on a substrate to form a component. An apparatus may cause the polarized direct-write particles to be aligned in a selected orientation to form the component with predetermined characteristics when deposited on the substrate.
