Abstract: Systems and methods for protecting threads of metal pipes while coating the metal pipes with a protective coating are disclosed herein. Innovative metal couplings are used to protect the threads while a protective coating is applied to the metal pipes. The couplings are reusable and result in multiple efficiency improvements over previous methods and systems. Benefits include elimination of plastic caps and reduced waste, improved flowthrough in the powder coating process, more efficient thermo transfer in the thermal chamber, and an increase in the overall capacity of the powder coating operation.

Abstract: A coating film having excellent adhesion, even without the presence of a chemical conversion film treatment as an undercoat, and a metal automotive part having the coating film. A powder is deposited by powder-coating onto the surface of a metal automotive part that has been quenched after simultaneously forging, and tempering the metal automotive part and bake-hardening the deposited powder to form a skin film on the surface of the metal automotive part. The surface of the metal automotive part before the powder is powder-coated thereon is a work-hardened material surface that has not been subjected to a chemical conversion filming treatment.

Abstract: A method for applying a wax formulation to a vehicle. A water hose is connected at one end to a water source and at the other end it is connected to a siphon-sprayer having a wax formulation in its container. The wax formulation includes water and wax emulsions. The water is turned on and flows from the water source through the water hose and then through the siphon-sprayer. The wax formulation is siphoned up from the siphon-sprayer to form a wax formulation and water mixture that is then sprayed onto the vehicle. After application of the wax formulation and water mixture, no further step of buffing or wiping is required. In a preferred embodiment, the wax emulsion is a cationically charged wax emulsion.
