Abstract: An exoskeleton component includes a wrist base structure, wrist intermediate structure, and end effector support structure. A first driveline output is disposed about a first axis. The first driveline output is coupled to the wrist intermediate structure for common rotation relative to the wrist base structure. A first motor drives the first driveline output to rotate. A second driveline output is disposed about a second axis that is transverse the first axis. The second driveline output is coupled to the end effector support structure for common rotation relative to the wrist intermediate structure. A second motor drives the second driveline output to rotate. An input device is coupled to the wrist base structure. A controller is configured to receive input signals from the input device and to control the first motor and the second motor in response to the input signals.

Abstract: Upper arms are fixed to drive shafts of a pair of drive sources at or near respective left and right hip joints. The upper arms are coupled to an upper body trunk harness by first passive rotary shafts via third passive rotary shafts, and are mounted to a lower body trunk harness by a mounting device. Lower arms are fixed to drive source bodies, and are coupled to thigh harnesses by second passive rotary shafts via fourth passive rotary shafts. The first and second passive rotary shafts and third and fourth passive rotary shafts are angularly displaceable about axial lines in a lateral direction of the wearer and axial lines in an anteroposterior direction of the wearer, respectively. An acceleration/angular speed sensor fixed to the lower body trunk harness detects an acceleration of the body trunk in a vertical direction by landing of a foot.

Abstract: The invention relates to a rehabilitation device adapted for rehabilitation and/or exercise of the shoulder region, the device being provided with a frame (1), which is connected to a power-generating apparatus (2), a back part (10), a seat part (11), and armrests (21). The rehabilitation device according to the invention is further characterised in that said armrests (21) are articulated in said corresponding motion arms (22), and said power-generating apparatus (2) communicates with said motion arms (22). In addition, the invention relates to the use of the rehabilitation device for exercising the shoulder region.

Abstract: A method for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes supplying an inflation gas at an operative pressure to an inflation actuated soft gripper device to change form from an undeployed state to a deployed grip state that accommodates and grips a human torso. The inflation actuated soft gripper device includes a first inflatable gripper arm having a first distal end and a second inflatable gripper arm having a second distal end. The first distal end and the second distal end approach one another from the undeployed state to the deployed grip state. The first and second distal ends are spaced apart from one another further in the undeployed state than in the deployed grip state. An actuator power and a CPR control signal are delivered to a CPR pressure application device to cyclically extend and retract a pressure applicator along an axis in alignment with a sternum of the human torso.

Abstract: In a hand exoskeleton device, according to a three-layered sliding spring mechanism, the motion of the device is changed by a single drive mechanism to transmit power to the metacarpophalangeal, proximal and distal interphalangeal joints of a human finger, thereby enabling support of the daily activity motions of the finger. According to the hand exoskeleton device, when compared with a conventional device, there can be realized a device which is small in size and weight and is capable of supporting the gripping motions of the human finger. The hand exoskeleton device is characterized in that the three joints of the finger can be bent and extended by the single drive mechanism and it can transmit large drive power. Further, the device body is flexible, thereby enabling safe movement.
