Abstract:
A cable assembly for interconnecting a plurality of circuit boards together by using a connector assembly connected to each of the circuit boards. The cable assembly includes a first cable having a first end part and a second cable having a second end part. A first periphery of the first end part has a plurality of first half vias that collectively form a column along a width direction of the connector assembly. A second periphery of the second end part has a plurality of second half vias that collectively form a column along the width direction of the connector assembly. The first and second end parts are coupled together to form a connecting unit, such that the first half vias and the second half vias are joined together to form full vias.

An anti-lightning-combined-stripline-circuit system is provided. The anti-lightning-combined-stripline-circuit system includes a stripline board including circuitry, and a metal ground bar attached to the stripline board. The metal ground bar has a geometry configured to function as a ground for the circuitry and simultaneously function as a lightning ground for a linear array of elements driven by the circuitry.

A multilayer ceramic capacitor includes flat-shaped inner electrodes that are laminated. An interposer includes an insulating substrate that is larger than contours of the multilayer ceramic capacitor. A first mounting electrode that mounts the multilayer ceramic capacitor is located on a first principal surface of the insulating substrate, and a first external connection electrode for connection to an external circuit board located on a second principal surface. The multilayer ceramic capacitor is mounted onto the interposer in such a way that the principal surfaces of the inner electrodes are parallel or substantially parallel to the principal surface of the interposer, that is, the first and second principal surfaces of the insulating substrate.

A filter for use in a coaxial cable network includes a printed circuit board having first and second opposed major surfaces, and first and second opposing sides. The opposed major surfaces are substantially parallel to a single plane, and are bisected by a longitudinal axis. The first and second opposing sides are substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis. The filter further includes an input terminal and an output terminal connected to the printed circuit board. The input terminal and the output terminal have an axis extending substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis. A signal path is disposed on the printed circuit board and extends from the input terminal toward the output terminal. The filter further includes a plurality of resonator elements fabricated upon the first opposed major surface. In one embodiment, the inductor elements are arranged in series along the signal path defining a footprint of less than 540 square millimeters. The filter passes a first range of frequencies in a provider bandwidth and attenuates a second range of frequencies in a personal data network bandwidth. In one embodiment, the resonator elements are parallel inductor elements and capacitor elements, the inductor elements being etched spiral inductors.

Communications plugs are provided which include a printed circuit board having a plurality of elongated conductive traces and a plurality of plug blades. Each plug blade has a first section that extends along a top surface of the printed circuit board and a second section that extends along a front edge of the printed circuit board. Additionally, each plug blade may have a thickness that is at least twice the thickness of the elongated conductive traces. The plug blades may be low profile plug blades that are manufactured separately from the printed circuit board.
Abstract:
Patch cords are provided that include a communications cable that has at least first through fourth conductors and a plug that is attached to the cable. The plug includes a housing that receives the cable, a printed circuit board, first through fourth plug contacts, and first through fourth conductive paths that connect the first through fourth conductors to the respective first through fourth plug contacts. The first and second conductors, conductive paths, and plug contacts form a first differential transmission line, and the third and fourth conductors, conductive paths, and plug contacts form a second differential transmission line. Each of the first through fourth plug contacts has a first segment that extends longitudinally along a first surface of the printed circuit board, and the signal current injection point into the first segment of at least some of the first through fourth plug contacts is into middle portions of their respective first segments.
