Abstract:
Therapeutic devices that provide support or pressure to tissue. Devices contain a material that is capable of being contracted from its relaxed state to an evacuated state. The material applies pressure to the tissue of a patient when the material is in its relaxed state. Reduction of pressure by application of a vacuum results in a contracted state of the device, so that the device can be applied or delivered to a patient. Release of vacuum results in a return to the relaxed state, thus providing a maximum desirable pressure to tissue and avoiding the possibility of over-pressure which can result in tissue damage or necrosis.
Abstract:
A massager (12) includes an inductively chargeable battery (48), avoiding the need to deal with batteries and cords while providing a pleasant exothermic warmth. Different embodiments of sealing and skinning (13) make the massager (12) hygienically safe and fluid- and water-resistant. Sophisticated controls (50) provide the massager with the ability to respond to direct-mounted user controls (20, 22), wireless communication controls such as remote controls (30) and a plethora of other protocol-compatible devices, systems and media. A mating base (14) supports the massager (12) for inductive charging in a stable, aesthetically pleasant and safe relationship.
Abstract:
A J-shaped vibrating massager and method for manufacture thereof. The J-shaped massager may consist of a J-shaped tubular rod, a head, one or more handles, vibratory sources, and vibratory controls. Generally, the J-shaped tubular rod may also consist of a J-hook and a barrel. Typically, the head is located at the end of the J-hook opposite the barrel, while the vibratory source may be mounted in the head or anywhere along the length of the J-shaped tubular rod. The vibratory source induces vibrations in one or more portions of the J-shaped tubular rod, generally including the head. The vibrations massage surfaces in contact with the invention. Because the invention is generally J-shaped, a user may reach his or her own back with the head of the J-shaped massager in order to give himself a back massage. The invention may include a variety of tips having different sizes, materials, and shapes.
Abstract:
A rejuvenation and massage device is provided for treating mucosa tissue, such as vaginal tissue, affected by Vaginal Relaxation Syndrome (VRS) or other conditions, through vibration, thermal loading, and light emittance for a duration of time. In one embodiment, the device is an insertable device that includes Low-Level Laser Light (LLLT) therapy to treat the vaginal tissue. The light emittance by one or more light emitters is in a range sufficient to provide therapeutic effects through light radiation. To enhance the therapeutic effects of light radiation provided by the device, the device is configured to provide increased energy density into target tissue of vaginal muscles though a light configuration component (e.g., a focusing component, such as a concave lens assembly, a convex assembly, a pre-lensed light emitter or other focusing optical mechanism) associated with the light emitter that concentrates the light emitted from the light emitter.
Abstract:
Described herein are devices and methods used for providing comfort to an infant, and in particular, to devices and methods for introducing a therapy protocol to an infant in, for example, a neonatal intensive care unit.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a reusable pain relieving treatment device, such as a belt, that comprises one or more conductive members that extend from an inner surface of the device and are capable of transferring heat, cold or vibrations from disposable or reusable packs.
Abstract:
Human stimulation devices and an apparatus for concealing such stimulation devices are provided. A preferred embodiment of the present invention provides one or more human stimulation devices and includes an electrically operated first device, a second device that functions as a male stimulation device and a concealment device, and a third device that is functions as a second stimulation device. The second stimulation devices may be concealed within the second device and once the second stimulation device is concealed, the apparatus as a whole resembles the electronically operated first device.
Abstract:
Methods and a device for improving wound healing and for improving the effects of rehabilitative therapies in patients with cognitive and motor deficits are provided. Repeated regimens of remote ischemic conditioning are performed. Markers of ischemia are monitored in the tissue. The remote ischemic conditioning regimen may be adjusted based on the monitoring results. The remote ischemic conditioning regimen can be performed at a hospital, medical clinic, healthcare facility, or at a subject's home.
Abstract:
An apparatus and system are disclosed for manipulating soft tissue. The apparatus includes a support member and a raised member. The support member includes a support surface disposed between a first end of the support member and a second end of the support member. The support member is elongated in a lengthwise direction between the first end of the support member and the second end of the support member. The raised member includes an outer surface disposed opposite an inner surface. The inner surface is supportable by the support surface of the support member. The outer surface of the raised member is configured to rotate along at least a portion of a user's body in response to movement of the raised member along the user's body. The raised member is repositionable along the support surface of the support member in the lengthwise direction.
