Abstract: The method DeCOMPRESSit is to decompress the spine from natural upright position using the force of gravity as a nonlinear increasing decompression force, which is applied to a spinal column in upright position. This allows the decompression force to be focused on selective vertebrae. The method to achieve the decompression results has attachment points to fix the body from the two natural upright positions, sitting and standing. This position will drive all not fixed parts under the attachment point down by gravity in a very natural way. There is no restriction in time by applying this method.A seat to achieve this decompression method has a back with attachment points, a seating base with its steady part and attached to it a movable adjustable flap, several movable adjustable resting flaps and handles, several movable adjustable joints, several movable adjustable extensions and a seat-leg-support-system. Everything should be adjusted together to fit the individuality of all body shapes to achieve the maximum support to the body and to place the user in a very relaxed position.A device to achieve this decompression method from the natural upright standing position has a harness to fix the body from under the armpits connected to a support system which contains a freely turning anchor and an adjustable belt. The support system must be placed over the head, aligned with the center of gravity of the human body. Everything should be adjusted together to fit the individuality of all body shapes to achieve the maximum support to the body and to place the user in a very relaxed position.Other features and advantages will be apparent from the following description in conjunction with the drawings.

Abstract: Provided is a step assist device including a first phase angle modifying section that, according to repetition of the step movement, modifies in a staged manner the phase angle input thereto, based on a predetermined phase change pattern, such that a phase pattern of the phase angle approaches a straight line relative to the passage of time, and outputs the modified phase angle as a first modified phase angle. The control section acquires a target value based on a continuous change pattern of the auxiliary force set in advance for at least one of the first modified phase angle and a prescribed phase angle, and controls the providing section according to the target value.

Abstract: A lift chair includes a lift mechanism that maintains a continuous seating position during forward and elevated movement by supporting the occupant's seat, arms and back. The mobile section of the chair will also lower the occupant to the normal seating height. The gel cushion seating surface is attached at least to the moveable section of the lift chair. The gel cushion seating surface of the chair has a plurality of gel cushion cylinders arranged in a grid that provide a rhythmically changing support area at multiple points on the occupant's buttocks and thighs. This provides a comforting massage which reduces stress on the body associated with prolonged seating.

Abstract: In at least some aspects, the present concepts include a method for configuring an assistive flexible suit including the acts of outfitting a person with an assistive flexible suit, monitoring an output of at least one sensor of the assistive flexible suit as the person moves in a first controlled movement environment, identifying at least one predefined gait event using the output of the at least one sensor, adjusting an actuation profile of the at least one actuator and continuing to perform the acts of monitoring, identifying and adjusting until an actuation profile of the at least one actuator generates a beneficial moment about the at least one joint to promote an improvement in gait. The at least one controller is then set to implement the actuation profile.
