Abstract: The invention is directed to a process to prepare propylene from a mixture of hydrocarbons by performing the following steps. (a) extracting aromatics from the mixture of hydrocarbons thereby obtaining a mixture of hydrocarbons poor in aromatics, (b) contacting the mixture obtained in step (a) with a heterogeneous cracking catalyst as present in a fixed bed thereby obtaining a cracked effluent, (c) separating propylene from the cracked effluent thereby also obtaining a higher boiling fraction, (d) recycling part of the higher boiling fraction to step (b) and at least 5 wt % of the higher boiling fraction to step (a).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing a sulfur-resistant catalyst for aromatics saturated hydrogenation, comprising the steps of: preparing noble metal impregnation solutions from a noble metal and deionized water or an acid solution; impregnating a carrier with the impregnation solutions sequentially from high to low concentrations by incipient impregnation; homogenizing, drying, and calcinating to obtain the sulfur-resistant catalyst for aromatics saturated hydrogenation. The catalyst for aromatics saturated hydrogenation prepared by the method according to the present invention is primarily used in processing low-sulfur and high-aromatics light distillate, middle distillate, atmospheric gas oil, and vacuum gas oil. The method according to the present invention is advantageous in that the catalyst for aromatics saturated hydrogenation exhibits good hydrofining performance, superior aromatics saturation performance, high liquid yield of products, as well as excellent desulfurization and sulfur-resistance, and the catalyst has remarkable effects in use and a great prospect of application.

Abstract: The invention concerns a process for the preparation of a catalyst starting from a pre-catalyst comprising at least one catalytic metal and a support, said pre-catalyst having undergone a heat treatment at at least 60° C. without calcining, in which process said pre-catalyst is impregnated with a basic solution having a pH of more than 7.5 and containing at least one molecule in the zwitterionic form, and the impregnated pre-catalyst is dried at a temperature of at most 240° C. without subsequent calcining.The molecule in the zeolite form is selected from the group formed by amino-alcohol acids containing secondary or tertiary amine groups and containing at least one carboxylic acid function (and preferably only one) and at least one alcohol function. It is bicine or tricine, for example.The invention also concerns the catalyst prepared using this process, and its use in hydrotreatment and/or hydroconversion.
