A liquid dividing module is located between a manifold and a dispensing module in a variable output dispensing applicator, to thereby enable the applicator to dispense patterns of adhesive onto a substrate, such as striped patterns and box-shaped patterns defined by zones of full volume adhesive and zones of reduced volume adhesive. The liquid dividing module divides a full volume flow of adhesive at a liquid inlet into first and second partial flows of adhesive, one of which continuously flows to a liquid outlet and another of which is controlled to either be recirculated or delivered to the liquid outlet. The different operating states of the liquid dividing module therefore enable highly responsive and rapid switching between the reduced volume output and a full volume output immediately before discharge at the dispensing module.

Disclosed is a coating apparatus including flow coating and roll-coating that may be used for uniform sol-gel coating of substrates such as glass, solar panels, windows or part of an electronic display. Also disclosed are methods for substrate preparation, flow coating and roll coating. Lastly, systems and methods for curing sol-gel coatings deposited onto the surface of glass substrates using high temperature air-knives, infrared emitters and direct heat applicators are disclosed.

The container includes a guide plate guiding the coating liquid or a solvent ejected from the slot of the die coater without bringing the coating liquid or solvent into contact with the mount and the decompression chamber in a non-steady state, in which the coating liquid is not supplied from the die coater to the web. The container collects the coating liquid or the solvent guided by the guide plate. The coating apparatus also includes a liquid discharge tube that is connected to the container and discharges the coating liquid or solvent to an outside of the decompression chamber.

A pump including a cylinder and a freely movable piston fitting therein is assembled onto a discharge cylinder of the sealer gun, an operation rod interlocked with the pump piston and a grip are interlocked via an interlock mechanism to perform pump operation of suction-discharge by movement of the piston caused by pivoting of the grip, and a suction-discharge aperture of the pump is positioned in an internal space of the nozzle, and configured so that when the liquid discharge sops by releasing the grip, a negative or positive pressure is introduced into the nozzle because of the pump operation caused by resilient pivoting of the grip.

The present invention is concerned with a process for forming a very well defined pattern of particulate material in a composite material comprising a web material and particulate absorbent material. The present invention relates also to a method for determining the equipment design and process parameter for such a process. In a particular application, the present invention provides a process for preparing liquid absorbent structures, such as may be useful for disposable absorbent articles.

Conventional art has a structure consisting of a roll axis incorporating a structure of fine pores, and a roll unit provided around the outer circumference of a roll axis, wherein internal pressure of the roll axis is dispersed to the roll unit to make a fluid (gas-liquid) suction action, thus reducing the pressure loss and obtaining even distribution of the fluid (gas-liquid). As such, instead of a tubular roll axis, the structure of a roll axis is made fin-shaped or groove-shaped to maximize the action surface area that works on the inner pressure of the roll axis of the roll unit. However, other problems such as inefficiency of the fluid (gas-liquid) suction action and lack of mechanical strength of the roll axis remains. To solve these problems, this invention provides a functional roll incorporating a structure of a lattice-shaped fluid (gas-liquid) guidepath made of high-density porous sheet material to activate the internal pressure of the roll axis, therein the structure of the lattice-shaped fluid (gas-liquid) guidepath, consisting of an internal pressure action space made of a cut-out portion provided on the circumference of the roll axis, and in the axis direction of the roll unit, and an internal pressure branching guidepath made of low-density porous sheet material, or a space communicating with the internal pressure action space, as well, being provided in the radial direction of the roll unit.
