Abstract: A coating device includes a nozzle, a pressure wave imparting component, and a controller. For each discharge of the coating liquid, the controller causes the pressure wave imparting component to perform a shaking operation that generates a pressure wave in the coating liquid inside the nozzle to an extent that a droplet is not discharged from the nozzle and the coating liquid is shaken in the nozzle, and a discharge operation that generates a pressure wave in the coating liquid inside the nozzle to an extent that a droplet is discharged from the nozzle after the shaking operation. The drive of the pressure wave imparting component in the shaking operation and the drive of the pressure wave imparting component in the discharge operation are kept constant, and a waiting time between the shaking operation and the discharge operation is adjusted.

Abstract: A method of applying a surface treatment on a contoured surface includes attaching a surface treatment repair assembly to the contoured surface that includes a robotic unit and an array of applicator heads, each applicator head being configured to apply a repair treatment to the contoured surface. A location of the surface treatment relative to the surface treatment repair assembly is determined using an optical sensor configured to scan the contoured surface and generate an image data set of the contoured surface. A damaged portion of the surface treatment is identified and a target area for surface treatment repair is defined based on comparing the image data set generated by the optical sensor and a pristine image data set. The surface treatment repair assembly is positioned with the array of applicator heads adjacent to the surface treatment, and each applicator head is selectively operated to repair the surface treatment.

Abstract: A thin film production method according to one embodiment includes: a coating film forming step of forming a coating film by discharging a coating liquid on a support from first to M-th line heads (M is 2 or larger and N or smaller) while allowing the support to pass through N line heads once; and a drying step of obtaining a thin film by drying the coating film. A thin film forming nozzle hole 28 of the m-th line head (m is 2 or larger and M or smaller) is arranged to be positioned between adjacent thin film forming nozzle holes in an (m−1)-th thin film forming nozzle hole array Qm-1. Every time the first line head discharges the coating liquid, the m-th line head applies the coating liquid onto the support at a predetermined delay time with respect to a discharge time of the first line head. The first to M-th line heads discharge the coating liquid from the film forming nozzle hole selected in accordance with a shape of a thin film formation region onto the support.
