Abstract:
A plurality of devices for reading document images are connected through a network. A master device and slave devices are set among the devices. Read conditions and image forming conditions are respectively notified to the slave devices by the master device. Each slave device reads an original document based on the read condition, and outputs the read image data attached with the image forming condition, to the print device. The print device prints image data from various read devices under the image forming conditions attached thereto, thereby to print image data from the plurality of read devices, integrated with each other.
Abstract:
An information display system capable of displaying the instruction input frame(basic frame) for allowing instructions of conditions of an arbitrary processing job to be input therethrough and the status confirmation frame (job status frame) for allowing the status of an arbitrary processing job to be checked is characterized in that with the basic frame preferentially displayed, a job list area that presents brief content of a processing job displayed in the job status frame can be displayed along with the basic frame.
Abstract:
Control over the output of duplex or double-sided copying is facilitated by indicator pages identifying an original page which should be copied to the front side of a new copy page, even if the back side of a previous copy page must be left blank in order to do so. Special separator pages containing detectable indicia such as a bar code may be inserted within single-side originals immediately prior to a page which should be printed on the front side of a duplex copy page to serve as the indicator page. Pages with unique, detectable content such as white space followed by large-print chapter or section headings may be employed as the indicator page, identifying the respective page as a page which should be printed on the front side of a new duplex copy page. Special dual-form separator pages containing different detectable indicia identifying either the front or back of a subsequent duplex original page may be employed to start each new chapter or section within a duplex original on a new page within the copy even if some chapters or sections within the original start on the back of a page, Indicator pages may also alter copy characteristics such as darkness and enlargement/reduction for the respective identified pages.
Abstract:
An image communicating apparatus which, at the receiving terminal, detects the size and direction of the image to be received, and dependent upon this information both signals the transmitting terminal the resolution of the image data which can be received and later rotates the received image data if appropriate. The transmitting terminal of the image communicating system similarly detects the size and direction of the image inputted to the system and rotates it if appropriate. Further, the transmitting terminal adjusts the scanning resolution of this image based upon the above-described signal transmitted by the receiving terminal.
Abstract:
An operator carrying out a copy request through facsimile communication sets originals with a mark sheet at the beginning in a facsimile apparatus. Items of functions included in the facsimile apparatus of a destination side (number of copies, sheet size and the like) are entered in advance in the mark sheet. The operator of the copy request can specify the number of copies, sheet size and the like to be reproduced at the facsimile apparatus of the reception side by marking appropriate items in the mark sheet.
Abstract:
Disclosed in a facsimile apparatus which is capable of transmitting image data representing an image pattern to a color facsimile apparatus, the facsimile apparatus including: a designation device for designating colors in which the image data is reproduced and output on the side of the color facsimile apparatus; a communication controller for preparing communication information indicating the designated colors; and a communication device for transmitting the communication information to the color facsimile apparatus along with the image data.
Abstract:
In a printing system in which a digital camera (DSC) and PD printer apparatus are directly connected via a USB, and image data is transmitted from the DSC to the PD printer apparatus and printed, Capability of the PD printer apparatus is transmitted from the PD printer apparatus to the DSC after communication procedures are established by an application (NCDP) installed in the PD printer apparatus and DSC. The PD printer apparatus is caused to execute print operation in accordance with print conditions set by the DSC on the basis of the transmitted Capability.
Abstract:
An image printer is an image printer including a pictorial tone changing/printing function to change original image data to image data having a different pictorial tone from that of the original data for printing on a printing medium and includes an original image storage unit, an address book storage unit which stores addressee data, an attribute setting unit which sets a pictorial tone changing attribute for changing the original image data to a designated pictorial tone for each piece of the addressee data, an addressee data selection unit, a pictorial tone changing unit which changes the original image data to image data having the pictorial tone associated with the pictorial tone changing attribute, a printing unit, and a control unit, whereby the image is changed to the pictorial tone designated in association with identification information of the addressees.
Abstract:
Device capability information associated with a print job is specified, and it is determined whether the specified device capability information is valid in a printing system. If it is determined that the specified device capability information is valid, print processing is done. If it is determined that the specified device capability information is invalid, it is further determined whether the printing system can execute the print job. Then, execution of the print processing is controlled.
Abstract:
An image reading device includes first and second reading units, first and second converting units, and a setting unit. The first and second reading units include N-number of first sub-regions and M-number of second sub-regions, respectively. Each converting unit includes L-number of channels. Each channel converts analog signal into digital signal. When the setting unit sets the double-sided read mode, P-number of first sub-regions are connected to the first converting unit and M-number of second sub-regions are connected to the second converting unit. When the read mode setting unit sets the single-sided read mode, P-number of first sub-regions are connected to the first converting unit and the remaining first sub-regions are connected to the second converting unit. L is greater than or equal to M and smaller than or equal to N. N is smaller than or equal to 2×L.
