Abstract:
Corrosion resistant coatings are applied to metal tubing while substantially continuously moving the metal tubing through a series of stations. The process comprises the sequential steps of flowing by gravity a zinc-rich thermosetting coating suspended in a volatile carrier onto the tubing, the viscosity of the coating composition being such that it flows around and completely covers the external surface of the tubing, removing excess coating by means of an air blower arranged circumferentially around the tubing and sequentially heating the coated tubing first to volatize off the carrier and then more rapidly to crosslink the thermosetting coating composition.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a system for manufacturing a fully impregnated thermoplastic prepreg includes a mechanism for moving a fabric or mat and a drying mechanism that removes residual moisture from at least one surface of the fabric or mat. The system also includes a resin application mechanism that applies a reactive resin to the fabric or mat and a press mechanism that presses the coated fabric or mat to ensure that the resin fully saturates the fabric or mat. The system further includes a curing oven through which the coated fabric or mat is moved to polymerize the resin and thereby form a thermoplastic polymer so that upon exiting the oven, the fabric or mat is fully impregnated with the thermoplastic polymer. During at least a portion of the process, humidity in the vicinity of the coated fabric or mat is maintained at substantially zero.
Abstract:
Inside a heating space of a heating chamber, a first heating treatment of moving a substrate along a substrate moving direction is performed by a first conveyor. After that, first conveyance processing of moving the substrate along a conveying direction is performed by a second conveyor. At this time, source mist is sprayed on the substrate by first thin film forming nozzles. Subsequently, second heating treatment is performed by a third conveyor. After that, second conveyance processing is performed by a fourth conveyor. At this time, source mist is sprayed on the substrate by second thin film forming nozzles.

Abstract:
A coating device includes: a rotatable coating bar that is arranged inside a container having a coating fluid inlet and an upper opening; a plurality of pairs of rotatable supports that are arranged intermittently along the longitudinal direction of the coating bar, and that support the coating bar from below; and a weir that is located close to the outer periphery of at least the support. The positional relationship between the support and the weir is determined such that, if a line that connects the shaft center of the support and a point which is the end edge of the weir and which is closest to the support is defined as a straight line and if a point where the straight line intersects with the outer periphery of the support is defined as an intersection point, a straight line that is perpendicular to the straight line and that passes through the midpoint of a line segment does not intersect with the coating bar.

The methods and apparatuses disclosed herein are concerned with formation of appropriate flowable materials, control over the manner in which the flowable materials are applied, treatment of the components prior to application of the flowable materials and the like. Moreover, the apparatuses and methods may be particularly suited for applying flowable materials to surfaces and components found in automotive, aerospace, and marine vehicles.
Abstract:
An automatic machine for varnishing an application piece including at least one of wood, medium density fiberboard, and particle board, with an ultraviolet powder, and a method of varnishing the application piece. A preheating device preheats the application piece. An application device applies the powder to the preheated application piece. A fusion device fuses the applied powder to the application piece. A curing device cures the fused powder on the application piece. A cooling device cools the cured powder on the application piece.
Abstract:
Metal surfaces which are pre-treated with high-energy NIR-radiation and then coated with a powder or a liquid coating composition, followed by curing or drying the coating composition, show better adhesion to the coating and improved appearance and performance and the process is more cost effective.
