Abstract: A spectroscopic analysis apparatus includes a light source section having a first light source and second light source that radiate light fluxes, a wavelength tunable interference filter, an imaging section that captures light having passed through the wavelength tunable interference filter to acquire a first spectroscopic image when the object being imaged is irradiated with the light from the first light source and a second spectroscopic image when the object being imaged is irradiated with the light from the second light source, a pixel detector that detects an abnormal pixel in the first spectroscopic image, and a light amount corrector that replaces the amount of light at the abnormal pixel in the first spectroscopic image with the amount of light at a pixel in the second spectroscopic image that is located in the same position as the abnormal pixel.

Abstract: A printer includes a spectroscope and a carriage moving unit. The spectroscope includes a wavelength-selective interference filter on which light from a measurement target is incident, and the carriage moving unit moves the spectroscope in an X direction with respect to the measurement target. If the measurement target is a color patch, the spectroscope performs spectrometry by changing a wavelength of light passing through the wavelength-selective interference filter in a first period during which the spectroscope is moved in the X direction, and passes light of an initial wavelength through the wavelength-selective interference filter at a start of measurement and at an end of measurement in the first period. A first output value that is a measured value from the spectrometry at the start of measurement is compared with a second output value that is a measured value from the spectrometry at the end of measurement.

Abstract: An imaging system color image acquisition including: an image sensor; a tunable spectral filter arranged in an optical path of light propagation towards the image sensor; and a controller connected to the image sensor and to the tunable spectral filter. The controller is configured and operable for generating a colored image by sequentially operating the tunable spectral filter for sequentially filtering light passing towards the image sensor with three or more different spectral filtering curves during three or more corresponding integration time durations. The tunable spectral filter is configured, as an etalon and includes a pair of reflective surfaces. At least one of the reflective surfaces includes a layer of high refractive index of at least n=2.3 or even higher than 3, or a layer of low refractive index, smaller than n=1. The configuration of the etalon provide wide transmission peaks of the spectral curves with full-width-half maximum (FWHM) in the range of about 50 to 80 nm, free spectral range (FSR) of at least 300 nm, and thickness of the etalon in the order to 1 mm or even less.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes broadband optical emission sources that include a stack of semiconductor layers, wherein each of the semiconductor layers is operable to emit light of a different respective wavelength; a light source operable to provide optical pumping for stimulated photon emission from the stack; wherein the semiconductor layers are disposed sequentially in the stack such that a first one of the semiconductor layers is closest to the light source and a last one of the semiconductor layers is furthest from the light source, and wherein each particular one of the semiconductor layers is at least partially transparent to the light generated by the other semiconductor layers that are closer to the light source than the particular semiconductor layer. The disclosure also describes various spectrometers that include a broadband optical emission device, and optionally include a tuneable wavelength filter operable to allow a selected wavelength or narrow range of wavelengths to pass through.

The detector is to detect reflected light from the sample, wherein the reflected light is comprised of multiple narrow-band subsets of the illumination light having long coherence lengths and is optically processed using a plurality of settings for the adjustable Fabry-Perot etalon, and wherein the plurality of settings includes a separation of the Fabry-Perot etalon plates that is greater than the broadband source coherence length.

A resonant layer is arranged between the two layers. The organic photodiode includes: a photoactive layer, a first electrode, and a second electrode sandwiching the photoactive layer, and one of the electrodes is in contact with the photonic crystal.
