Abstract:
An offloading system for use with a treadmill includes an air chamber configured to be selectively inflated between a deflated condition and an inflated, operating condition, a user seal coupled to the air chamber and adapted to receive a user so that, in the operating condition, at least a portion of the user is received in the user seal and positioned within the air chamber, a pump operable to inflate the air chamber, and a controller configured to determine an occurrence of a loss of pressure in the air chamber and, in response to the occurrence, cause a reduction of speed of a running belt of the treadmill.
Abstract:
A system for performing simultaneous ventilation and resuscitation of a patient includes an oxygen source, at least one inspiration control valve, a breathing apparatus, at least one expiration control valve, at least one indicator, and at least one timer. The breathing apparatus is configured to form an air seal with at least a portion of the patient's respiratory tract such that a gas including oxygen can flow from the oxygen source to the lungs. The at least one expiration control valve being configured to selectively actuate an exhalation valve. The at least one indicator for indicating when a rescuer should perform a chest compression. The at least one timer for synchronizing actuation of the at least one inspiration control valve, the at least one expiration control valve, and the indicator, thereby enabling continuous compressions to be provided to the patient while the patient undergoes inspiration and expiration.
Abstract:
An apparatus and methods for dispensing a sanitized saline solution for rinsing the nasal passages and sinuses. The disclosure includes methods for bulk storage of granular sodium salt mixtures (pH balanced sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate), bulk storage of water, heating and sensing elements, filtering elements, and dispensing elements. The apparatus provides controls for customizing the concentration and temperature of the dispensed saline solution, and provides for dispensing the solution into a delivery device, with a water catch basin and area for drying a delivery device after use.
Abstract:
Devices, systems, and methods for promoting female sexual wellness and function. The devices, systems, and methods encourage clitoral engorgement using suction over the clitoris combined with vibratory stimulation. In some embodiments, a device is capable of operation in an automatic attachment (autoattach) mode, in which detecting attachment of the device to user tissue (e.g. through detection of a positive pressure in a tissue-contacting chamber) automatically triggers starting a suction pump to secure the device in place. Suction settings such as a target negative pressure may be determined according to a dynamically-evaluated quality of a seal established between the device and user tissue. The quality of the seal may be determined by identifying drops in the absolute value of negative pressure that are not readily compensated for by the suction pump.
Abstract:
A compression therapy device may include a wearable article having independently inflatable and deflatable sealed cells. The location of the sealed cells in the article may be tailored to the anatomy of the device user. A method of providing the therapy device may include measuring one or more anatomical areas on the patient where compression is desired, providing the measurement to a device provider, and receiving an article having multiple sealed cells localized at the one or more anatomical areas. A method of manufacturing the therapy device may include receiving a measurement of an anatomical feature of a patient and determining a configuration of seals to be incorporated in a template article. The configuration may result in the sealed cells providing a pressure on the patient's anatomical feature.

Abstract:
A compression device for applying compression to an extremity of a mammal includes a cuff adapted to be placed around and secured to the extremity. A control and tensioning unit is attached to the cuff and is operable to control a tension of the cuff to thereby control the compression applied to the extremity. The cuff may further include a bladder system, in which case the compression device further includes a hydraulic pump that is operable to transfer fluid within the bladder system to control the compression applied to the extremity.
Abstract:
A spa control system designed to reduce maintenance cost by providing modular construction for major control functions, with built-in diagnostic capabilities for isolating defective spa components. Multi-colored LEDs on the spaside panel constantly report the status of each component of the spa as well as the status of the functional modules themselves. Each time a component is activated, measurements of operational parameters, such as load currents, are instantly made and evaluated so that the proper LED color can be presented at the spaside. Since major functions such as audio, LED control, wireless, and spa logic are separated into removable modules, repair of the control system requires less time and less skilled personnel. Other design improvements, such as direct monitoring of heater element temperature and the purging of pumps on an as-required-basis, enhance the spa's overall reliability and thus reduce the need for maintenance.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the production of ionized oxygen and ozone from pure oxygen. An adjustable high voltage power supply is connected to an ozone generator having at least one ozone generator therein. The HV power supply has a relatively low voltage setting for producing negative ionized oxygen and a relatively high voltage setting for producing ozone. A negative ionizer may be included to increase the concentration of negative ionized oxygen. Outputted gasses are directed to a hermetically sealed envelope positioned around and in spaced relation from the surface of a patient's injury. If the wound is infected, ozone is selectively used to treat the infection for a first predetermined period of time sufficient to neutralize the infection. After the wound is treated with ozone, negative ionized oxygen is selectively used to treat the wound for a second predetermined period of time sufficient to enhance the healing of the wound.
