Abstract: A pipeline construction usable for internally insulating a welded joint between pipes with an internal protective coating. A device for internally insulating a welded pipeline joint includes a sealing assembly including a cylindrical housing and a coaxially-fastened cylindrical working member that radially expands upon generation of excess pressure in a cavity thereof. Inside the housing are a sealing compound feed assembly, a dosing device formed by a piston assembly for sealing compound components, and a pneumatic control assembly. In the dosing device, working cavities for each component are connected to the feed assembly. The elastic working member has a conduit connected to the feed assembly for feeding sealing compound into an annular gap in a welded joint region, and a conduit for pumping air out of the gap. The pneumatic control assembly controls dosing device and feed assembly functioning and generates excess air pressure in the working member cavity.

Abstract: A central tubular defines a central flow passage and spray nozzles along an outer circumference of the central tubular. A first brush pig supports a first end of the central tubular. A second brush pig supports a second end of the tubular. An inflatable balloon is at the second end of the tubular. The inflatable balloon is encircled by the second brush pig. The inflatable balloon is configured to cause a first pressure drop across the balloon when in an inflated state and cause a second pressure drop, less than the first pressure drop, across the balloon when in a deflated state. A flow control system is at the first end of the tubular and is configured to regulate fluid exchange with the tubular and fluid exchange with the inflatable balloon.

Abstract: A coating system to coat the interior of a pipeline section using a UV curable coating and an internally pressurized UV foil that assists in suspending and distributing coatings during UV curing. The UV foil may be installed through the length of the pipeline section using an inversion system driven by pressurized air. The system includes a coating delivery system for distributing the coating along the interior of the pipe. The system includes a UV light source capable of delivery sufficient UV light to cure the coating. The UV light source may include a light train having a plurality of UV light sources, such as UV light emitting diodes, carried by a motorized trolley. The coating system includes an inlet adapter that facilitates inversion and pressurization of the UV foil, as well as introduction of the UV light source into the interior of the pressurized UV foil.

Abstract: An apparatus for detecting and repairing leaks in buried pipes is described. The apparatus includes a control device and a pipe drone, the pipe drone comprising a housing, a leak detection component, a pipe repairing component, a propulsion device, and a communication component. The pipe drone and the control device may be separate but can be communicatively coupled either wirelessly or by a tether so that the control device can power and/or control the pipe drone, the pipe drone configured to detect and repair leaks in a pipe through which the drone is traveling. The pipe drone may be operated manually or be configured via the control device to operate autonomously to detect and fix leaks within the pipe.
