    Abstract: Application of a resin to a pool surface to provide a colored finish that is ultraviolet resistant. The resin may be a powder that can be melted at a fairly low temperature and applied to the pool surface. A first later of resin may be applied (thermally sprayed) to an epoxy layer that is applied to the pool surface after the epoxy has become tacky and before it has cured to provide better adhesion and cause the resin and the epoxy to blend into a single layer. An additional layer of resin may be applied after the epoxy and the first layer of resin fully cured. After the second layer of resin has cured an additional layer may be applied to provide designs and/or markings. The designs/markings may be produced with tape and/or stencils and the next layer may be applied to the non-covered areas to provide the desired look.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a method of preparing insulation coating. The method comprises: providing a powder of polymer material, a graphite powder, and a substrate, wherein the powder of the polymer material is an epoxy powder or a polyethylene (PE) powder. Next, forming a mixture via mixing the powder of polymer material and the graphite powder. Then, utilizing a thermal spray device to spray the mixture on the substrate and then cooling the substrate to form an insulation coating. The method possesses advantages of increased production efficiency and reduced cost, and provides an insulation coating with good sound insulation properties.

    Abstract: Disclosed are methods for coating a substrate. These methods include: (a) vertically orienting the substrate between a vertically oriented backstop and a spray gun; (b) at least partially coating the vertically oriented substrate with a substantially 100% solids, radiation curable liquid coating composition by passing the composition through the spray gun wherein the composition is atomized; whereby a portion of the atomized coating composition deposits on the vertically oriented substrate and a portion of the atomized coating composition deposits on the vertically oriented backstop; (c) exposing the coated substrate to ionizing radiation and/or actinic radiation to cure the coating composition deposited thereon; and (d) removing and reusing at least a portion of the coating composition deposited on the vertically oriented backstop. Related coating systems are also disclosed.
