Abstract: An infuser tip can be used to assist penetration of cosmetic formulas through the outer layer of human skin. Generally described, the infuser tip includes a concave surface or a similarly structured area that retains formula for application to the skin. The infuser tips described herein generally apply cosmetic formula to the skin with a reciprocating (e.g., tapping) motion. Converter assemblies for generating such reciprocating motion from an oscillating motor are provided. Embodiments of converter assemblies generally include an outer housing, a follower having a cam following surface, and a cam rotatably couplable to the outer housing. In general, the follower is configured for reciprocating motion and the cam is configured for oscillating motion, both with respect to the outer housing. In this regard, interaction of the cam and the cam following surface causes the follower to reciprocate when the cam oscillates.

Abstract: A foot spa tub includes a tub basin, a first magnetic drive member rotatably coupled to a drive motor, and a first casing supporting the magnetic drive member. The first casing is disposed against an exterior surface of a sidewall of the basin. A second magnetic drive member is rotatably coupled to a blade. The first and second magnetic drive members are magnetically coupled to each other so that the blade is drivingly coupled to the drive motor. The nozzle is detachably securable to an interior surface of the sidewall by a magnetic attraction force between the first and second magnetic drive members. A method of circulating liquid in a foot tub spa is also provided.

Abstract: Medical pressure therapy can be used on a patient having undergone treatment to reopen an arterial obstruction, such as a stenosis or occlusion. The medical pressure therapy can establish and maintain persistently good distal runoff. The can help ensure the patency of the region having undergone the treatment procedure. In some examples, the technique involves enclosing at least a portion of a limb of a patient on which an obstruction treatment procedure has been performed in an enclosure such that the portion of the limb is sealed from external conditions. The technique further involves alternately applying a negative pressure within the enclosure and releasing the negative pressure from within the enclosure, thereby increasing a volume and velocity of blood flowing past a region of the blood vessel previously-obstructed and thereby increasing distal runoff.

Abstract: The invention relates to an exoskeleton for assisting human movement, which can be fitted to the user in terms of dimensions, tension and ranges of joint motion, either manually or automatically. Said exoskeleton can be fitted to the user in the anteroposterior direction in the sagittal plane, with the user in a horizontal or sitting position, without requiring a functional transfer. The exoskeleton has a modular design which is compatible with human biomechanics and reproduces a natural and physiological movement in the user, with up to 7 actuated and controlled degrees of movement per limb, ensuring that the user maintains equilibrium during locomotion.

Abstract: A safety walker has a support extension that extends from the front of the moveable support frame toward the back end opening and is centrally located. A user may enter the safety walker and straddle the support extension and the actuate the support extension up to a secure position, whereby in the event of a fall the support extension will support the user. The support extension may be coupled with an actuator system having a motor to raise or pivot the support extension. A safety strap may be attached to the extended end of the support extension and extend above the support extension towards the front of the movable support frame. The safety strap may provide a flexible support that is more comfortable for support in the event of a fail. A gate may be coupled with an actuator system and automatically close as the support extension is lifted.

A smart powered rocking bed system further includes a health care database, a discrete personal digital device such as a cell phone and health care telemetry sensors placed on or in a user thereof.

Abstract: A leg support exoskeleton is strapped on as wearable device to support its user during squatting. The exoskeleton includes a knee joint connected to a first line and a second link, which is configured to allow flexion and extension motion between the first link and the second link. A force generator has a first end that is rotatably connected to the first link. A constraining mechanism is connected to the second link and has at least two operational positions. In a first operational position, the second end of the force generator engages the constraining mechanism, where the first link and the second link flex relative to each other. In a second operational position, the second end of the force generator does not engage the constraining mechanism; the first link and the second link are free to flex and extend relative to each other.

Abstract: A pressure cuff is provided, comprising a plurality of layers and a controller. The layers comprise: an outer covering, an outer surface of which is exposed when the pressure cuff is secured around a body part of a patient; a first conductive layer; a first insulating layer separating the outer covering and the first conductive layer; an inner covering, the inner surface of which contacts the patient or the patient's clothing when the pressure cuff is secured to the patient; a second conductive layer; a second insulating layer separating the inner covering and the second conductive layer; and a first piezoelectric support layer separating the first and second conductive layers. The controller is electrically coupled to the first and second conductive layers and configured to supply a voltage to the first and second conductive layers, whereupon the first piezoelectric support layer constricts around the body part of the patient.
