Abstract: A device (7) for the rehabilitation of the movements of the foot (1) includes a supporting base (8) and a mobile platform (9) with a supporting surface (10) for resting the sole of the foot (1), wherein the mobile platform (9) is secured to the supporting base (8) by a pure rotation movement mechanism (12) with three degrees of freedom of rotary movement independent the one from the other and placed in parallel which allow rotations of the mobile platform around three axes (13, 14, 15) which intersect one another in a single rotation center (P). The supporting surface (10) is turned towards the rotation center (P) and is distant from the rotation center (P) in such a way that the rotation center (P) is positioned in correspondence to the ankle (2) of the foot (1).

Abstract: Described herein are methods for determining a target musculoskeletal activity cycle (MSKC) to cardiac cycle (CC) timing relationship. The method may include detecting a first characteristic of a signal responsive to a CC timing of a user that repeats at a frequency that corresponds to a heart rate of the user; detecting a second characteristic of a signal responsive to a rhythmic musculoskeletal cycle activity (MSKC) timing of the user that repeats at a frequency that corresponds to the MSKC rate of the user; determining a value representative of an actual timing relationship between the first characteristic and the second characteristic; detecting a third characteristic of a signal corresponding to a physiological metric that varies with the actual timing relationship between the first and second characteristics; and determining a target value representative of a preferred timing relationship between the first and second characteristics.

Abstract: In one example, we describe a method and system for infant's development, which is a disc system, with various combinations and extensions. The brain is the only organ that constantly reorganizes itself based on experiences or lack thereof. Babies are born with millions of neurons. Through a process called “pruning”, certain ‘circuits’ are fine-tuned through repeated practice and stimulation. This occurs from birth, throughout early childhood. The purpose of the SensiMo Disc is to provide an infant, e.g., typically, up to the 25 lbs. and/or 29 inches long, sensorimotor stimulation, while lying in a prone or supine position, with minimal active movement of the head or extremities. As the child lays supine or proneon, on the SensiMo disc, the child's tactile, vestibular, and proprioceptive systems are stimulated. This helps develop the child's sensorimotor system. Many other variations and combinations, plus advantages, are discussed.

Abstract: There is provided a phototherapy apparatus, in which the therapeutic light is delivered through one or more massage components. The massage component provides mechanical massage to the subject biological tissue and modifies the properties of the subject tissue in thickness, density, etc. to facilitate the absorption of the therapeutic light and enhance the effect of the phototherapy procedure. The light source of the phototherapy apparatus is actively cooled by a synthetic jet cooler.

Abstract: The present invention provides a body lift-assist walker device for gait training is provided by the invention. The patient wears a pressurized body suit over all or a portion of his lower body, and the suit is attached to the walker device. A positive pressure or vacuum condition is applied to the interior of the suit, so that the differential pressure condition across the suit offloads a portion of the patient's body weight to the ground through the supportive walker device to make it easier for him to walk or run. The walker device also includes a lift-assisted body weight support device operated by a constant force mechanism like a pneumatic air cylinder that can lift the patient from a sitting position to a standing position with minimal physical effort. The device provides a portable and convenient system for persons undergoing physical therapy for treatment of gait or balance problems following an injury, stroke, or neurological disorder, or for use by elderly or disabled persons who have encounter difficulties in the sit-to-stand movement or walking.
