Abstract: A system that performs a bus transaction includes a transaction controller and a protection code processing circuit. The transaction controller identifies a set of parameters corresponding to the bus transaction based on address and received control information, and modifies at least one parameter or splits the bus transaction into sub-transactions depending on the parameter values to map the bus transaction to a memory address space. The protection code processing circuit generates and inserts a protection code into data to be written to the memory, and removes a protection code from data read from the memory. The system facilitates error checking without requiring modification of the channels (e.g., bus width) used to read and/or write data to memory.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for forming a distributed data store using a remote access appliance associated with a data center infrastructure management (DCIM) system. Data may be generated which is associated with operation of managed device being monitored by the DCIM system. At least one remote access appliance may be used to receive the data. An element library framework may be used by the remote access appliance to generate events from the data. The remote access appliance may also be used to implement a complex event processing subsystem to analyze the events and to generate event related signals therefrom. A bus may be used to transmit the event related signals from the appliance to a common platform services (CPS) subsystem of the DCIM system. The CPS subsystem may be used to receive the event related signals and to use the event related signals to inform the user of an aspect of performance of the managed device.

Abstract: An ability to monitor the performance of a threaded application is provided. A thread that is executing is detected, wherein the thread is spawned by a threaded application. A thread class of the thread is determined. A performance metric of the thread is measured. A trend that describes a consumption of the performance metric as a function of percent execution time is interpolated. In response to determining that a threshold associated with the performance metric is exceeded based on a comparison of the trend to a trend template that is associated with the performance metric, an alert is issued. The alert identifies the thread as an abnormally executed thread in order to trigger a corrective action that improves a performance of a computing device that is configured to execute the threaded application.
