Abstract:
Methods for coating medical devices for implantation within a body vessel are provided comprising providing a cylindrical container, placing a medical device inside the cylindrical container, and applying a polymer in liquid form inside the container.
Abstract:
The inventive method for protecting from corrosion and scale deposit and restoring tubes of heat-exchanging equipment consists in applying a polymeric coating on the internal surface of tubes by gradually and rotationally moving an excessive volume of polymeric material therealong and in hardening said material. A polymeric compound having an at-rest viscosity ranging from 1000 to 1200 poises and a thixotropic viscosity reduction during the displacement thereof is used as a polymeric material. The inventive device for carrying out said method comprises a loading chamber (2), a connecting washer (12), a unit for progressively displacing the polymeric material provided with spaced rigid washers (4,5,6) fixed to a metallic rod (7), an elastic screw (8) having a conical shape whereby the conicity thereof ranges from 5 to 10° on the side which is opposite in relation to the connecting washer. Said elastic screw is arranged in such a way that it is enable to perform the gradual rotation, the rotation displacement being performed at a linear speed of 0.4-1.0 m/sec and the gradual displacement being performed at a speed of 1-0.49 m/sec.
Abstract:
Apparatus for spraying glass bottle mold bodies, such as blanks and rings in a molding machine, includes nozzles and spray guns mounted on a plate such that the nozzles are positioned to spray the mold bodies with a material such as a lubricant during normal operation of the machine and without shutting the machine down. The apparatus can be installed on an existing machine without changing the molding machine. Rings may be sprayed while in motion during normal machine operation. A nozzle is provided along with check valves to produce a tight conical spray pattern.
Abstract:
A droplet discharge apparatus that forms a pattern in a desired shape on a base material being processed by discharging liquid having pattern-forming substances, includes a drawing section, inside which the base material moves in one direction, the drawing section having a plurality of droplet discharge heads that are arranged in a direction intersecting with the movement direction of the base material, a supply section for supplying the pre-drawing base material toward the drawing section and a removal section for extracting the post-drawing base material from the drawing section, wherein the drawing section, the supply section, and the removal section are arranged along the one direction, and the base material moves relatively from the supply section side to the removal section side with respect to the plurality of droplet discharge heads in the one direction, being also the direction that intersects the arrangement direction of the plurality of droplet discharge heads, while discharging the liquid by the droplet discharge heads.
Abstract:
A substrate processing apparatus for processing a substrate With a processing fluid is provided. The apparatus includes holding members 60 for holding the substrate W, a chuck member 61 for supporting the holding members 60 and a top-face member 62 approaching the substrate W to cover its surface. In arrangement, since the top-face member 62 is supported by the chuck member 61, the holding members 60 can rotate together with the top-face member 62 in one body. With this structure, it is possible to reduce the influence of particles on the substrate W and also possible to provided a low-cost substrate processing apparatus occupied as little installation space as possible.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the sizing of a shaped extended element having a longitudinal axis and including lateral surfaces extending substantially parallel to the axis. The apparatus includes a wheel rotatable about an axis. The wheel includes at least one planar ring-shaped surface extending perpendicular to the axis of the wheel and centered on the surface. The ring-shaped surface cooperates with the lateral surface of the shaped elongated element during a displacement of the wheel relative to the element along an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the element. A coating device is adapted to deposit, at least on the outer circumference of the wheel a sufficient amount of glue for allowing a sizing of the lateral surface of the shaped element.

Abstract:
A device for positioning tires comprises a station to which the tires are separately conveyed while laid flat on a driven conveyor and at which the tires are aligned with respect to a plane set at right angles to the conveyor by means of adjustable or displaceable stops and are thereupon exposed to a treatment, processing or measuring operation. So that the tire in question may be placed in rotation without a complementary driving system, the station has arranged thereat at least one liftable and lowerable support member eccentrically positioned with respect to the aligned tire, which may be placed in contact with the downwardly directed tire sidewall by being lifted, in order to tilt the tire to one side. The tire placed in the tilted position and secured against being moved away rests on the conveyor in the area of its lowest point and is placed in rotation by said conveyor.
Abstract:
In an apparatus for applying a protective substance to a welding seam of a metallic sleeve, including a frame, a container disposed within the frame holding a protective substance, a drivable applicator roller disposed in the container at least in part contact with the protective substance and applying the protective substance to the seam of the metallic sleeve within a substance transfer region, and wherein the sleeve moves towards, past and away from the applicator roller, comprising in combination therewith, a stripper disposed within the transfer region on each side of the seam removing any excess substance leaking away laterally from the seam.
Abstract:
A system for applying conductive paint to the studs of a kinescope faceplate includes oppositely threaded, coaxially aligned screws. Each screw drives a paint reservoir and a paint applicator. Simultaneous rotation of the screws in the same direction causes the applicators and reservoirs to move along the screws in opposite directions. The screws, and the components coupled to them, are movable perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the screws by back-to-back coaxially aligned jacks.
