Abstract:
A non-aerobic garment to be worn to promote weight-loss during a wearer's daily activities from a targeted area of the wearer's body includes: (a) a sleeve having a configuration adapted so that the wearer can place the sleeve around the targeted body area, (b) a top and bottom means for holding the sleeve's top and bottom ends in close proximity to the top and bottom portions, respectively, of the targeted body area so as to trap an enclosed air layer around the targeted body area, and (c) wherein the materials of construction of this sleeve is a non-breathable material that has high thermal insulation and low water vapor permeability properties.
Abstract:
Flexible, form fitting, uniquely shaped, body part bandages incorporate flexible carbon fiber blood flow stimulation planar emitters to provide therapeutic blood flow stimulation. Emitters are electrically powered and radiate pulsed electro magnetic energy at an ideal wavelength--typically in the 0.8 micron to 15 micron range--and frequency--typically in the 0.5 Mhz to 5 MHz range or 20 Hz to 200 Hz range--to stimulate circulation in sub dermal tissue. The carbon fiber emitters provide the means to maximize and control surface coverage and through their planar design also provide very uniform energy emissions over the entire applied surface area. Blood flow stimulation therapy body bandages are uniquely fashioned and shaped to form fit each body part and constructed such that they can then be incorporated in flexible and elastic materials such as neoprene and may include VELCRO hook and loop fasteners, buttons, straps, laces and the like.
Abstract:
A support apparatus (1) adapted for positioning beneath the lower back of a user (2) in a generally semi-supine position. The support apparatus includes a base (5) for positioning on a platform (6) such as a floor. First and second inclined support surfaces (10, 11) are disposed to diverge upwardly from a generally transverse valley formation (12) defined between the first and second support surfaces. The first inclined support surface is adapted for positioning substantially beneath the coccyx or sacrum of the user, the second inclined support surface is adapted for positioning substantially beneath one or more of the thoracic vertebrae of the user, and the valley formation is adapted for positioning substantially beneath one or more of the lumbar vertebrae of the user, thereby to induce a relaxation response in the lower back of a user.
Abstract:
An inflatable garment for applying to parts of the body such as the calf of the leg as a means of enhancing blood circulation in the body. The garment is of universal application in the sense that it comprises two wrap halves (8, 9) provided with inflatable bladders (4, 5, 6). The two wrap halves can be selectively coupled together in such a way as to provide a variable overall length of garment wrap to suit calf's of differing size while at the same time maintaining the integrity of fluid communication between the bladders on the respective wrap halves.
Abstract:
A non-invasive peripheral pain relief device provides pain relief from skin injury such as burns, avulsions, lacerations and scrapes without the use of pharmaceuticals or invasive treatments. The device uses the body's own physiology, specifically lateral inhibition, to give both temporary and sustained relief of pain. This process uses the body's own neurotransmitter mechanisms to control pain without pharmaceuticals or invasive treatments. Varying, extremely light, bursts of air are applied sequentially to the periwound to affect relief centrally.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for improving mobility in patients affected by a neurodegenerative disease, through controlled and localized mechanical stimulation of the foot, at the tip of the big toe and the lower big toe metatarsal joint. Described herein is an apparatus comprising stimulators for the right and left foot and it attains such mechanical stimulation according to predetermined intensity parameters, stimulation sequence, duration and cyclical repetition. Mobility improvement was observed in particular in patients affected by Parkinson's disease.
Abstract:
A health mat (2) and a health bed (10) with the health mat (2) are provided. The health mat (2) includes a fixed bar unit (3), a movable bar unit (4) that can move relatively to the fixed bar unit (3), and a mat body unit (5) that is on the movable bar unit (4) and can move with it. The reciprocation of the movable bar unit (4) makes the mat body unit (5) move and makes the mat body unit (5) do reciprocative movement.
Abstract:
The present invention disclosed a method of performing Soojichim acupuncture on oneself using a copy of the person's body. The method includes: making an instantaneous molding of any one of hand and foot of the person requiring Soojichim acupuncture; forming a copy of the body on the basis of the instantaneous molding;marking an acupoint location and a reference point on the body copy; drilling a hole into the marked acupoint location on the body copy; attaching the body copy based on the marked reference point closely onto the body of the person requiring Soojichim acupuncture; marking the acupoint location at a skin of the person requiring Soojichim acupuncture through the drilled hole of the body copy; baring the body copy from the person requiring Soojichim acupuncture that the acupoint location is marked at the skin thereon; and performing Soojichim acupuncture through the drilled hole at the marked acupoint location of the body copy by the person.
Abstract:
A massage device for massaging a body part of a person in an unsupervised and unattended setting is provided. In a preferred embodiment, the massage device comprises an inflatable garment (200) having a plurality of inflation bladders (250), to apply pressure to the body part, and an inflation assembly (300) includes a manifold (324) into which the pressurized fluid flows, a plurality of inflation valves (326) which control the flow of fluid from the manifold to the bladders, and a manifold valve for controlling the maximum pressure level within the bladders. The inflation assembly may have a predeterminated inflation capacity which defines a maximum bladder size as well as an array in which the bladders are arranged. The massage device may further comprise a connector for connecting tubes from the bladders to the inflation assembly, wherein the connector includes a garment-identifying component for identifying the type of garment connected to the inflation assembly.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a massaging brassiere structure that installs an electronic vibrator in brassiere cups of the brassiere, and the electronic vibrator is controlled by an electronic circuit for vibrations and driving an elastic filling layer of the brassiere cup to vibrate, so that the vibrating frequency produced by the electronic vibrator is transmitted evenly to a wearer's breasts by the elastic force of the elastic filling layer of the brassiere cup for massaging the wearer's breasts.
