Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a technique for calculating the psychophysical value of a color corresponding to an arbitrarily defined tone by modeling a tone concept defined in the PCCS (Practical Color Co-ordinate System).[Solution] A method for, regarding multiple types of tones defined in the PCCS, generating a definitional equation for each saturation to which each of the tones belongs, wherein a computer acquires the Munsell values of colors belonging to respective multiple tones belonging to the same saturation among the multiple types of tones defined in the PCCS, the computer stores the acquired multiple Munsell values in a predetermined storage device, the computer converts each of the multiple Munsell values stored in the storage device into a value in a predetermined color space composed of two axes of values representing lightness and values representing vividness, and the computer performs a predetermined regression calculation on a point group projected to the predetermined color space to find a regression equation passing through the origin of the predetermined color space.
Abstract:
A system and method for improving the outcome and consistency of hair coloring is provided. In an example method, an image of hair having a sample color may be received. A color space characteristic associated with the hair sample may be determined. An indication of a target color may be received. A colorant formulation may be identified for changing the hair from the sample color to the target color.
Abstract:
The present disclosure related to acquisition of color calibration charts. In at least some examples herein, an image of a calibration color chart is processed. A lighting condition of the color calibration chart may be automatically determined.
Abstract:
A color matching device includes a planar member comprised of a material chosen from a group of polymers and composites. The planar member has a specified thickness, first length and second length. In implementations the planar member includes an opening through which a painted surface may be viewed.
Abstract:
First spectral data (spectral transmittance) of a printed object, and second spectral data (spectral reflectance) of the printed object are obtained. Further, third spectral data (spectral radiance distribution) of a transmissive light source, and fourth spectral data (spectral radiance distribution) of a reflective light source are obtained. Then, using the first, second, third and fourth spectral data, colorimetric value data of the printed object in a given observational environment is calculated.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a color measuring apparatus and a printing apparatus that enable the user to easily keep a backing plate. A color measuring apparatus includes a holder on which a backing plate is capable of being attached, the backing plate having a white portion and a black portion, and a sensor for measuring color patterns on a sheet on the backing plate. Either one of the white portion and the black portion faces the sensor, depending on the attached state of the backing plate on the holder.
Abstract:
A method for determining color information of an object, wherein data is generated of the object with an image generation device having a field of view. The object and a reference implement having one or more regions of predetermined optical properties are positioned in the field of view. Data is generated of the reference implement, which includes a positional location attribute, based on which a position of the one or more regions of predetermined optical properties is determined by a processing system without operator identification of the position of the reference implement in the field of view. Color information of the object is generated by adjusting the data generated of the object based on the data generated of the reference implement. The color information may include value, chroma and hue information, RGB values, XYZ coordinates, or Lab values, and may be transmitted electronically to a remote location.
Abstract:

Abstract:
The present invention relates to charts, stacks and methods for evaluating skin color of a mammalian subject. The chart may include a substrate and an indicia visible from a first side of the substrate that includes a plurality of images of mammalian skin tones having varying degrees of yellowness, wherein each indicia is correlated with an index value. Also, the present invention relates to packaged topical cosmetic products that include a skin chart as well as to methods for evaluating anti-aging and skin lightening products.
Abstract:
A device, method and system are provided for analyzing urine color to determine the hydration level of an individual. The device is nonabsorbent and includes a water-resistant adhesive configured to adhere the device to a urine receptacle such as a urinal or toilet. The device includes a color scale possessing a plurality of shades of yellow arranged from lightest to darkest. Each shade of yellow corresponds to a hydration level. The device allows the individual to assess their hydration level while simultaneously urinating into the urine receptacle.
