Abstract:
A method and apparatus that affect vacuum to massage a volume of the skin and one or more types of skin treatment energies coupled to the massaged volume to treat the skin and subcutaneous adipose tissue and produce a desired treatment effect. The method and apparatus are based on coupling an array or a number of arrays being an assembly of skin treatment units with each skin treatment unit including a hollow cavity and a number of different energy to skin applying elements operative to receive skin treatment energy from a source of such energy and couple or apply the received energy to a treated segment of skin.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a device including a processor configured to detect a respiratory disorder episode and generate kinesthetic stimulation control signals in response to the detection of a respiratory disorder episode. The device further includes at least one kinesthetic effector adapted to be applied to a patient's outer skin site and includes a vibrating electromechanical transducer capable of receiving stimulation control signals and outputting a kinesthetic stimulation energy determined by the stimulation control signals. The processor is further configured to determine the effectiveness of stimulation by detecting a cessation of the respiratory disorder episode. The processor is further configured to determine a stimulation energy by selecting an initial energy value and varying the energy value as a function of the effectiveness of previous stimulation.
Abstract:
Devices, systems, and methods for promoting female sexual wellness and function. The devices, systems, and methods encourage clitoral engorgement using suction over the clitoris combined with vibratory stimulation
Abstract:
This invention relates generally to apparatus and methods for tightening tissue of the female genitalia by heating targeted connective tissue with radiant energy, while cooling the mucosal epithelial surface over the target tissue to protect it from the heat. Embodiments include a handle and treatment tip that has both an energy delivery element and a cooling mechanism. The handle may be a two-handed handle allowing control even while rotating and maneuvering the treatment around the genital opening. The apparatus or system may also include an integrated controller, which may confirm tissue contact without applying RF energy, based only on the temperature of the applicator and the time since the last application of energy from the applicator.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to a vibroacoustic water system. The water system includes a reservoir configured to contain water and comprising a wall. The water system further includes four transducers mounted against the wall of the reservoir. The four transducers are configured to receive an input signal and to generate vibrations within water contained in the reservoir by vibrating the wall of the reservoir. The four transducers are mounted in a configuration such that, when the wall is partitioned into four sections, only a single transducer is mounted against each section of the wall and no other transducers are mounted against the wall.
Abstract:
A skin treatment apparatus. The skin treatment apparatus may comprise: an applicator tool, a vacuum source, fluid reservoir, and first tube. The applicator tool may comprise: a tip, a head, and a body. The head is removeably connected to a distal end of the body. The tip is preferably positioned substantially within the head and may comprise one or more contact members. The contact members may comprise a contact surface. The contact surface are generally nonabrasive and are configured to contact a skin surface. The vacuum source may provide a vacuum to the applicator tool to create a suction. The tip may comprise at least one opening that is in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir via the first tube. The fluid reservoir may store a fluid, which may pass through the first tube, through the opening of the tip, and drawn outside the tip via the vacuum.
Abstract:
A physical therapy and rehabilitation robot with an artificial intelligence for treating congenital or acquired joint, muscle, musculoskeletal system disorders and diseases affecting the locomotor system, minimizing the problems, handicaps or disabilities of the locomotor system, facilitating the daily life and minimizing dependence of a person on others for living, wherein it includes the following: a control panel, a head fastening element, a back fastening element, a leg-hip connection element, an arm exercise mechanism, an arm-shoulder connection mechanism and a leg exercise mechanism.
Abstract:
One aspect of the disclosure provides a binocular viewing system. In one embodiment, the binocular viewing system includes a binocular viewer and a computer. The binocular viewer has left and right display screens and a variable focal depth optical subsystem located in an optical path between and separate from the display screens and a user when the user uses the binocular viewer. The computer is configured to provide control signals to the binocular viewer. The control signals are operable to place images on the left and right display screens and vary a focal depth of the variable focal depth optical subsystem. The images include a plurality of objects controlled by the variable focal depth optical subsystem to make at least one of the plurality of objects appear closer to the user and at least one of another of said plurality of objects appear farther away from the user.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, compositions and kits for inhibiting a disorder in a human patient, including non-cerebral neurovascular disorder or muscular headache pain, or loss of motor or sensory function, sympathetic tone or range or fluidity of motion that affect a nerve pathway at more than one locus associated with the disorder to inhibit the disorder. Alternatively or in addition, neuropathy associated with a disorder is treatable by palpating to determine a Keystone nerve essential to the neuropathy, applying pressure to determine a point of maximum discomfort or trigger of increased symptoms to identify a Levin Sign as a locus of initial intervention, and intervening to treat the neuropathy at the location of the Levin Sign by administering a pharmaceutically active agent, internal implanted or external neuro stimulation affecting the nerve pathway to inhibit the neuropathy.
Abstract:
A wearable massage and/or compression device for applying controllable scrolling or intermittent sequential forces, such as compression forces, to the body and limbs of a user comprises an elongated fabric body sized to encircle a limb of a user, one or more shape-memory wires carried by the fabric body and configured to apply a compression pressure to the limb through the fabric body upon changing shape in response to a stimulus, and a micro-processor based controller for selectively actuating the one or more shape-changing elements to reduce the effective diameter of the device encircling the limb, to thereby apply pressure to the limb.
