Abstract: A planar torsion spring has outer and inner hubs connected by a set of beams that are capable of bending to provide torsional compliance when the outer hub is rotated with respect to the inner hub. Each beam is fixed to the outer hub at one end and is attached to the inner hub at its other end by a pin and slot. Slots may be curved. The spring is capable of deflecting to ± π 6 radians and providing 100 N·m of torque. Bearings may be located at the interface between each pin and slot. Beams may have variable width. In a method of fabrication, the design dimensions, material, and slot geometry of the planar torsion spring can be parameterized to design springs that meet specific requirements for different applications. In addition to quantifying performance, the models provide the foundation for further weight, efficiency, and performance optimization.

Abstract: The invention discloses a pair of intelligent massage shoes, each including a vamp, a sole composed of a sole plate and a cushion plate, and massage columns arranged in the sole plate and stretching out of the cushion plate. The massage columns are matched with positions of acupuncture points of a sole, and are driven to carry out a reciprocating motion up and down through a lifting power device, thus massaging the sole. The lifting power device is fixed on a bottom plate, which is connected with an adjustment power device that pushes the lifting power device to move back and forth, thus adjusting the front and back positions of the massage columns to adapt to feet with different sizes. Each shoe has an air pocket charged with air through an electric air charging apparatus, thus forming a space in the shoe adaptive to accommodate the feet with different sizes.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a method and a device for increasing blood flow and controlling the temperature of a mammal by applying a desired pressure to extremities of a mammal. The device generally includes a pliant body element that is adapted to receive a portion of an extremity of the mammal therein, and then apply a pressure to a portion of the extremity when a pressure is provided to a region in which the extremity is positioned within the pliant body element. By evacuating the region in which the extremity is enclosed, a contact surface area between the extremity of a mammal and the pliant body element is increased, due to the external atmospheric pressure acting on the pliant body element against the skin of the extremity of the mammal. The application of pressure assures that sufficient contact and thermal heat transfer (heating or cooling) is provided to the extremity of the mammal.

Abstract: Disclosed is an intelligent shoe for the blind, which includes a sole and an upper. At least a portion of the sole is provided with multiple pressure sensors for generating pressure sensing signals when the sole is in contact with raised ground surface. The intelligent shoe further includes a storage chip, used to pre-store a signal characteristic of pressure sensing signals generated when the sole is in contact with a blind sidewalk, and a ata processing chip electrically connected to the multiple pressure sensors and the storage chip, used to compare a signal characteristic of pressure sensing signals from the pressure sensors with the pre-stored signal characteristic, and determine that the sole deviates from the blind sidewalk and send a prompt signal in the case that the signal characteristic of the pressure sensing signals from the pressure sensors is inconsistent with the pre-stored signal characteristic.
