Abstract: Systems, devices, circuits, and methods are provided for an improved mass spectrometry detection system that comprises at least one component that operates at a high voltage. A number of high voltage filters or circuits are provided for reducing noise from high voltage power supplies that produce positive and negative voltages. In some embodiments, the filters can comprise one or more diodes. In some embodiments, the filters can comprise one or more transistors. In some embodiments, the filters can comprise one or more transistor pairs. A variety of embodiments of systems, devices, circuits, and methods in conjunction with the disclosures are provided.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods for reducing or eliminating crosstalk in ion mobility spectrometers are provided. In some aspects, the apparatus, systems, and methods can reduce or eliminate crosstalk without significantly increasing the overall capacitive load of the ion mobility system. In accordance with various aspects of the applicant's teachings, cross talk compensation circuits are disclosed herein that address resulting issues in RF pickup and/or crosstalk in ion mobility spectrometers used with high-sensitivity downstream mass spectrometers such as mass spectrometers having high velocity gas interfaces that can be coupled to the ion mobility spectrometer.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for clearing ions from a multipole ion transmission device which includes introducing a DC or RF clear out pulse to one or more of the rods of the multipole device. The DC pulse is selected so as to supply sufficient kinetic energy to the ions to overcome a pseudo-potential trapping well generated by the RF potentials of the ion transmission device. For an RF pulse, the auxiliary RF signal uses frequencies that correspond to the ejected ion's frequencies of motion. In select embodiments, the multipole device can be a quadrupole or the apparatus can be part of a tandem mass spectrometer.
