Abstract:
A process for applying an organophosphorus-based layer on a substrate, utilizing a solution of an at least partially amine-neutralized organophosphorus acid, is disclosed.
Abstract:
A heat and fire resistant system, comprising at least one layer of an intumescent coating applied on at least one surface of a foam substrate. The intumescent coating includes an intumescent catalyst, a carbonific, a blowing agent, expandable graphite, and a binder. A method for rendering a foam substrate resistant to heat and fire, comprising applying at least one layer of intumescent coating composition onto at least one surface of the foamed substrate and allowing the intumescent coating to dry on the foamed substrate. The intumescent coating composition includes an intumescent catalyst, a carbonific, a blowing agent, expandable graphite, and a binder.
Abstract:
The present invention is concerned with incorporating bis-(chloroalkyl) vinyl phosphonates in polyfluorocarbon coatings to improve the adhesion of such polyfluorocarbon coatings to cutting edges and especially to razor blade cutting edges, said cutting edges having outer surfaces of alumina, silica, tungsten, titanium, or tantalum.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to improved systems and methods for applying coatings to brake rotors. The systems, methods, and techniques described in this disclosure facilitate application of both pretreatment coatings and protective coatings to brake rotors. Other embodiments are disclosed herein as well.
Abstract:
Coated components, along with methods of their formation, are provided. The coated component may include a substrate having a surface and a thermal barrier coating on the surface of the substrate. The thermal barrier coating includes a plurality of elongated surface-connected voids therein, and wherein the thermal barrier coating comprises a plurality of nonspherical particles within a thermal barrier material.
