Abstract:
The use of an aqueous polymer dispersion for modifying cement bonded mineral coatings for concrete mold bodies. The polymer comprises: (A) a polymer P in the form of ethylenic unsaturated polymer particles with a glass transition temperature of -20 - + 80 C; and (B) an emulsifier for stabilizing the polymer particles. (A) comprises: (i) 90 - 99.9 wt. % hydrophobic, monoethylenic unsaturated monomer(s) (M1) from styrene, butadiene, 1 - 4 C alkylester of methacrylic acid and 2 - 12 C alkylester of acrylic acid; and (ii) 0.1 - 10 wt. % hydrophilic, monoethylenic unsaturated monomer (M2) comprising up to 2 wt. %, based on the total amount of monomer of a monoethylenic unsaturated monomer(s) containing an acid group (M2a) and/or up to 10 weight. % thereof different hydrophilic monomer (M2b). (B) comprises: (a) the salt of a sulfuric acid half ester of an alkoxylated alcohol, containing a 4 - 20 C alkyl chain(s) (salt a); and (b) an alkoxylated alcohol containing a 4 - 20 C alkyl chain(s) (compound b).
