Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a simulcast clock synchronizing system by equalizing delays caused in a transmission path. SOLUTION: A control station 12 starts transmission of a system timing signal, which is re-transmitted from a satellite 14 . Then the control station 12 generates a time correction factor in response to the reception of the system timing signal and distributes the obtained factor to many transmission stations 16, 18. The transmission stations 16, 18 generate a time adjustment factor used to correct local transmission clocks 36, 36' in response to the transmission of the system timing signal and the reception of the time correction factor distributed from the control station 12, thereby attaining time synchronization of transmission of data generated from the transmission stations 16, 18. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice portal system capable of reducing a call charge, acquiring object information in a short time and relieving the load. SOLUTION: An on-vehicle unit 11 is connected to a voice portal center 12 through a mobile phone and acquires, in an interactive form, information provided by the voice portal center 12. The on board unit 11 recognizes voice uttered by a user, converts recognized voice data into a text as voice text data. The on board unit 11 generates packet data to transmit voice text data to the voice portal center 12 via a mobile phone network. The voice portal center 12 receives the packet data sent from the on board unit 11, extracts the voice text data from the packet data and applies semantic analysis to the voice text data. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of a power amplifier used in a wireless communication device. SOLUTION: Load impedance at the output of a power amplifier 304 is modified by a voltage variable capacitor (VVC) 310 to maximize the efficiency of the power amplifier. A comparator 509 generates an amplifier control signal 211 based upon a detected power output signal 216 and a reference signal. In addition to providing power control, the control signal is also coupled to a VVC circuit 506 to control the output impedance of the power amplifier. In an alternate embodiment, a separate VVC control signal 527 can be coupled to the VVC. The second VVC is coupled in parallel to the first VVC. Otherwise, the VVC circuit 506 is incorporated at the input of the power amplifier to compensate for variations in input impedance to improve other power amplifier parameters such as IM, gain, output power and noise level. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide effective EMC design. SOLUTION: A gasket (110) is fixed on a bezel (104) which is electrically connected to a front panel (102). A method for electrically connecting the panel (102) to the bezel (104) provides the front panel (102) having an inner surface (112) for forming an aperture (114). In the method, the bezel (104) is formed so as to have a periphery (118), and the inner surface (112) of the aperture (114) is designed so as to receive the vessel (104). Since the gasket (110) is designed so as to be fixed on the periphery (118) of the vessel (104) and connected to the inner surface (112), the inner surface (112) receives the vessel (104), and the vessel (104) is electrically connected to the front panel (102) through the gasket (110). PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device-shielding apparatus that does not require any additional space. SOLUTION: In the apparatus for shielding a device, the device is attached onto a surface, and the device includes a surface for generating electromagnetic energy. At least one ground pad is connected to the surface, and a finger stock is removably connected to the ground pad. A conductive heat sink is connected to the finger stock, and operates so that electromagnetic energy that is generated by the device is shielded. The method for shielding the electromagnetic energy includes arrangement to the surface of at least one ground pad and removable connection to the ground pad of the finger stock. After that, the conductive heat sink is connected to the finger stock, and the finger stock is compressed so that the finger stock can be restored for connecting the conductive heat sink to the device.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize system memory addressing in an information processing. SOLUTION: This system 10 provides an addressing mode settable by users according to control information included in an input address. By using coding control information stored in an address replacement control resister (70 to 72) set by the plurality of users, specified bits of the input address are replaced, and it is judged whether what bit value must be used to selectively generate a corresponding replacement address. Since the pipeline of a processor need not be changed, various types of replacement addressing modes can be defined by the users, and executed by using either of a general processor and a dedicated processor.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control loss of packet in a communication system. SOLUTION: A packet transfer unit monitors the average number of packets in a first buffer and when the average number exceeds a specified threshold value, the packet transfer unit transmits a signal for interrupting transmission of data packet to a source. Subsequently, the source stores packets received from a network in a second buffer while compressing until the source can transfer a compressed packet again to the packet transfer unit. When the buffer at the source is filled fully, the source discards all packets received from the network before they are compressed. When the average number of packets in the first buffer decreases below the threshold value, the packet transfer unit transmits a signal for resuming transmission of a compressed packet in order to transfer it to a destination. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer system having a plurality of energy devices integrated on a system communication bus and capable of making communications between the energy devices without obstructing the other functions of electronic apparatus. SOLUTION: Energy devices are integrated on the system communication bus, and each has a memory and a processor. The processor monitors the system communication bus selectively and examines whether there is no communication data, and if none, the energy device tries to make communication with another energy device belonging to the energy system. After sensing that no communication data exists, the energy device tries to make communications by the specified sequence. One energy device includes, for example, a battery pack, desk top charger, analyzer and radio appliance.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for authentication between servers by a three party network protocol. SOLUTION: This method includes at least one network access server(NAS) which communicates with at lest one user on a network and also communicates with at least one remote authentication server(RAS) coupled with the network. An access request message including a user password is sent from a user to the NAS. The NAS ciphers the password with a shared secret between the NAS and the RAS. Then the NAS adds a message authentication code(MAC) used for the shared secret to the ciphered password. Then the ciphered password and the MAC are sent to the RAS. The RAS authenticates the NAS by verifying the MAC before deciphering the ciphered user password.
