    Abstract: Production of open-celled inorganic sintered foam products comprises: (a) converting a slip material made of sinterable inorganic powder, a vaporisable material, and a material forming a propellant gas, into a foamed product with release of the propellant gas; (b) treating the foamed product, which removes the flowability of the slip material forming an open-pored intermediate body, where steps (a) and (b) can run simultaneously; (c) removing any remaining fluid materials from the body forming a green foamed body; and (d) sintering to form the sintered foam product.
