    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to improve jitter characteristics after overwriting and to increase a density and capacity by having at least first dielectric layers, recording layers, second dielectric layers and resin layers on substrates and imparting a function to scatter the light entering from the substrates to these resin layers. SOLUTION: UV curing resins, etc., are used as resin layer materials to facilitate bonding of two sheets of disks. The intensity of the transmitted light is preferably 20 to 50% to the intensity of the light incident on the resin layers. Fillers of an oxide, such as, for example, titanium oxide, nitride, such as silicon nitride, and metallic powder, such as aluminum powder, are incorporated into the resin layers. The difference in the refractive index at the wavelengths of light in recording and erasing between the resin layers and the fillers is preferably specified to >=0.2. The jitter characteristics after overwriting are improved by decreasing the light absorbing quantity of the recording layer of the amorphous state. The optical recording medium of small noise may be manufactured even if the medium is formed of the structure obtd. by bonding two sheets of the disks to each other.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in a recording characteristic and to improve signal contrast at a reproducing time with an optical interference effect by successively laminating first, second dielectric layers, a recording layer, a third dielectric layer and a reflection layer, arranging the mixture layer of both layer materials between the first, second dielectric layers and making the third dielectric layer thickness a specified range. SOLUTION: The mixture layer of both layer materials is arranged between first and second dielectric layers, peeling between the both layers is prevented and long term storage stability and an excellent rewrite repeat property are obtained. Further, the first dielectric layer thickness is made thinner than the second dielectric layer thickness for displaying the optical characteristic of the second dielectric layer. Further, the third dielectric layer thickness is made to 3-50 nm and crack occurrence and deterioration in repeat durability due to the thinning is prevented, further, the cooling degree lowering of a recording layer due to the thickness in the range or above is prevented and an excellent erase characteristic and repeat durability, particularly excellent recording/erasing characteristics when a mark length is recorded are obtained.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium with which high sensibility and high erasing rate are obtainable and which has excellent preservable property and life. SOLUTION: This optical recording medium allows recording, erasing and reproducing of information by irradiating a recording layer with light. The recording and erasing of the information are executed by the phase transition between an amorphous phase and a crystalline phase with this medium. The optical recording medium has a structure obtd. by laminating a first dielectric layer, the recording layer, a second dielectric layer and a reflection layer on a transparent substrate. The recording layer includes at least one kind of In, Se, Zn and Cd. The second dielectric layer is not transparent to the wavelength of light. The recording layer includes at least one kind of In, Se, Zn and Cd and the second dielectric layer contains materials having k of >=0.02 as its essential component when the virtual part of a refractive index is defined as k.
