    Abstract: The invention relates to polyelectrolyte complexes of cationic and anionic polymers, comprising (a) cationic condensates of (i) at least one amine and (ii) a cross-linking agent from the group of epihalohydrins, or bishalohydri ns of diols, bishalohydrins of polyalkylene glycols, bishalohydrins of polytetrahydrofurans, alkylene dihalides, alkylene trihalides, bis-epoxides, tris-epoxides, tetra-epoxides, and/or mixtures of the above and/or quaternar y cationic condensates of (i) and (ii) and (b) anionic compounds with at last three anionic groups and a loading ratio of anionic to cationic polymers of 0.01 to 20. The invention further relates to methods for the production of t he polyelctrolyte complexes by means of mixing the cationic condensates (a) wit h anionic compounds (b).
