Abstract: The invention relates to triazolopyridine dyes of formula (I) where one of the two groups A and E stands for nitrogen and the other stands for a group of formula C-R , in which R stands for optionally substituted C1-C20 alkyl, optionally substituted phenyl or optionally substituted mercapto, Q is a group of formula (i) or (ii) where R stands for a carbocyclic or heterocyclic group, R stands for optionally substituted C1-C20 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxycarbonyl or optionally substituted phenyl, R stands for cyano, carbamoyl, carboxyl, C1-C4 alkoxycarbonyl or benzothiazolyl, or R and R together stand for the group of a fused benzo ring, and X stands for CH or nitrogen, and R signifies oxygen or a group of a CH acid compound. The invention further relates to a process for the heat transfer of these dyes.
