    Abstract: PURPOSE: A structure of an impeller operating member for a fuel pump is provided to prevent a decrease in the torque of a motor and rotation inability of the motor by curbing an increase in frictional resistance due to foreign materials. CONSTITUTION: A structure of an impeller operating member for a fuel pump comprises an upper case(30), a lower case(10), a chamber, a motor, and a fuel pump. The chamber is formed between the upper case and the lower case. The impeller operating member is coupled to a motor so that an impeller(20) rotates in the chamber. The bottom of the upper case and the top of the lower case are formed as a plane to the rotating shaft of the motor. The top of the impeller forms an upper gap with the bottom of the upper case. The bottom of the impeller is mounted to form a lower gap with the top of the lower case.

A target shifting ratio and a target torque ratio are determined from a set map table by detecting a vehicle speed and an opening/shutting state of a throttle(S101,S102,S103). A safety coefficient for preventing slip of a primary pulley and a secondary pulley is extracted according to the target shifting ratio and the target torque ratio(S104). A radius of the pulley is controlled by determining control pressure of the primary pulley and the secondary pulley according to the safety coefficient(S105-S108).
