Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-temperature superconductive heptode low-pass filter for microwave which uses a filter pattern where a high-temperature superconductive epitaxial thin film and an open stub system are adopted. SOLUTION: A single crystal substrate 4 is provided, and a micro strip line using a high-temperature superconductive thin film is formed on one side of the upper surface of the single crystal substrate. An input end 1 which is connected to a connector for input and to which a microwave signal is inputted from the outside is formed, and a microstrip line which uses a high-temperature superconductive material is formed on the other side of the upper surface of the single crystal substrate 4. An output end 3 which is connected to a connector for output and outputs a filtered signal to the outside is formed, and a micro strip line which is formed so as to be able immediately connecting to both of the input end 1 and the output end 3 and consists of the same material as the high-temperature superconductive material of the input end 1 and the output end 3 is formed between the input end 1 and the output end 3 on the surface of the single crystal substrate 4, thus realizing an open stub system.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate gas leaks between a reactor and tripod by providing a means for gripping the side face of a wafer, wafer carrier including means for detecting the malfunction thereof, and vacuum reactor having a vacuum exhaust hole at the bottom of a wafer chuck. SOLUTION: A gripper of a wafer carrier has a forefinger 110 for holding the side face of a wafer and wafer contacting ends at the tops of both its sides or center end support 102. A support table 100 has an optical sensor 160 for detecting the existence of the light shut-off by an operating lever 113 of the forefinger 110 at a detector of the wafer carrier, thereby detecting the malfunction at operating of the gripper. A tripod at the bottom of a wafer chuck and drive unit are removed, to allow a vacuum exhaust hole and vacuum pump to be located at the bottom of the chuck. This maintains the axial symmetry of a process gas flow which is fed from an upper gas feeder to enhance the process uniformity.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a power amplifier that is used for all analog communication and digital communication systems operated at a low power supply voltage. CONSTITUTION: Microstrip lines L1-L10 each having a characteristic impedance of 50 ohms and a variable capacitor are used to adjust a gate bias by analog and digital methods. After obtaining an impedance at each terminal, an output terminal that is in matching with a major frequency and has a low impedance of 2 ohms or below with respect to second and third harmonics is configured. Through the configuration above, the power amplifier is used for analog and digital communication systems by keeping the linearity and attaining a high efficiency characteristic.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce the size by including a microwave use single crystal substrate, a coupling axis, a center conductor and a ground plane so as to improve the performance and excellence coping with frequency requirements. CONSTITUTION: An upper layer of a double mode disk resonator made of a high temperature superconducting material on a single crystal substrate 4 keeps a characteristic impedance of about 50 ohms, for example, and includes two coupling axes 1 of a microstrip form formed at an angle of 90 deg. and generating a double mode signal and includes a center conductor disk 3 formed at a prescribed interval 2 with respect to the axis 1 in which a square perturbation area 3a is formed. An interval 2 between the two axes 1 and the conductor 3 is selected so that resonance is produced between them. The axis 1 has a line width calculated and designed by the thickness and the dielectric constant of the substrate 4. When an output terminal use coupling axis is placed at a right angle to the input terminal coupling axis 1, the anti-resonance characteristic to the resonance is realized and the characteristic of the microwave resonator is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To generate a row of stable pulses having repeatability of several THz, by arranging gratings at unequal pitches in order for specified cycles severally, in each of plural pieces of sampling sections. In each sampling section of SSG-DBR, gratings having pitches of 233.5 nm, 235 nm, 236.5 nm, 238 nm, and 239.5 nm are made to be arranged for twenty five cycles (5837.5 nm), five cycles (1175 nm), twenty five cycles (5912.5 nm), five cycles (1195 nm), and twenty five cycles (5987.5 nm) respectively. Hereby, in generation of the row of pulses in 1.55 μm having repeatability of 1THz class or over, the row of output pulses which are stabilized and highly averaged more than existing equal DBR structure can be generated.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To simultaneously separate and recognize a pattern by providing a feature layer for executing different phase oscillations against the mutually different patterns and a character detecting layer for recognizing the phase- synchronized character. CONSTITUTION: A circuit network is attained by the three stages of an input stage 50, a feature extracting stage(FEL) 51 and a character recognizing layer(ADL) 52 as in the case of Jang for separating and recognizing the pattern. Inter-nerve phase connection in the feature extracting layer 51 is decided by the feed-back of the selective oscillation from the character detecting quantity nerve to a lower layer. The selective oscillation of character detecting quantity 52 is decided by the matching of the connection strength pattern from feature extracting quantity to a character detecting layer 52 with an input pattern and by mutual restricting competition. Thus, the oscillation of the nerve in the feature extracting layer 51, which is synchronized by one phase, corresponds to the one specified pattern and the feature extracting nerves corresponding to the patterns concerning the mutually different patterns are oscillated by the mutually different phases.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To easily obtain the optimum refractive-index distribution by enabling the estimation to refractive-index distribution by properly regulating the diffusion time of sulfonic acid by sulfonating a swollen crosslinked polymer using a sulfonic acid soln. CONSTITUTION: A hydrophobic aromatic monomer capable of being sulfonated is mixed with a crosslinking agent and a polymn. initiator to be subjected to suspension polymn. to form a rectangular crosslinked polymer having uniform refractive-index distribution and the formed crosslinked polymer is immersed in a solvent to be swollen. The swollen crosslinked polymer is immersed in sulfonic acid held to a predetermined temp. of about 70-100 deg.C to be sulfonated so as to have refractive-index distribution such that a refractive index is highest at the center part of a rectangle and decreases gradually as going away from the center part. Since the refractive-index distribution is determined by the diffusion of sulfonic acid, the estimation and control to the refractive-index distribution become easy.
