For use in systems under pressure, a pressure and quantity stabiliser (9-11) is connected upstream of the input (8) for the enveloping flow medium of the cuvette, and a controller (13, 14, 16, 17) for the quantity of the sample flow and enveloping flow is connected downstream of the output (12) of the cuvette.

    Abstract: Linear polymers (I) contg. units of formula -CH2-CH(NH2)-and having Fikentscher K value (in 0.5% aq. NaCl at 25 deg. C) 10-200 are prepd. in powder form by reacting a powdered polymer -CH2CH(NHCHO)- (II) of N-vinylformamide with a gaseous-hydrogen halide acid at up to 200 deg. C in presence of max. 5% water on wt. (II). Pref. (III) is reacted with HCl or HBr in presence of max. 2.5 wt.% water, partic. in absence of water. Reaction is carried out in inert solvent which does not dissol-e (I) and (II) particles, esp. dioxan, terahydrofuran, or cyclohexane. Or reaction is carried out in a 1-8C alcohol, partic. with inert suspending agent also present. Particle size (II) is 10-1000, partic. 50-400 microns. Reaction temp. is 35-150 deg. C.
