Abstract: Procedimiento para la mejora de la estabilidad de dispersiones polímeras acuosas, que se obtienen por polimerización en emulsión acuosa por medio de radicales de monómeros M etilénicamente insaturados, que comprenden al menos un 50 % en peso, referido a la totalidad del peso de los monómeros M, de uno o varios monómeros M1, que se escogen entre monómeros vinilaromáticos, los ésteres alquílicos con 1 a 12 átomos de carbono y los ésteres cicloalquílicos con 5 a 8 átomos de carbono de ácidos mono- y dicarboxílicos etilénicamente insaturados con 3 a 8 átomos de carbono, butadieno, cloruro de vinilo y de vinilideno y olefinas con 2 a 6 átomos de carbono, frente a la influencia térmica y/o mecánica, caracterizado porque se agrega al menos una sal de un éster bisalquílico con 4 a 18 átomos de carbono de un ácido dicarboxílico sulfonado con 4 a 8 átomos de carbono (= sal S) a la dispersión polímera acuosa.

Abstract: An aqueous copolymer dispersion (I), is prepared by radical, emulsion polymerization of at least two different monomers (M1 and M2) in the presence of an initiator, whereby at least 80 % of the monomers and at least 75% of the initiator is continuously added during the course of the reaction. The rate of initiator addition is varied, either continuously or in a number of steps. Independent claims are included for (i) a polymer powder (II) prepared by spray drying the dispersion (I), and (ii) an adhesive composition containing the dispersion (I) or powder (II).
