Abstract: A one pot method of preparing cyclic carbonyl compounds comprising an active pendant pentafluorophenyl carbonate group is disclosed. The cyclic carbonyl compounds can be polymerized by ring opening methods to form ROP polymers comprising repeat units comprising a side chain pentafluorophenyl carbonate group. Using a suitable nucleophile, the pendant pentafluorophenyl carbonate group can be selectively transformed into a variety of other functional groups before or after the ring opening polymerization.

Abstract: An approach is presented for designing a polymeric layer for nanometer scale thermo-mechanical storage devices. Cross-linked polyimide oligomers are used as the recording layers in atomic force data storage device, giving significantly improved performance when compared to previously reported cross-linked and linear polymers. The cross-linking of the polyimide oligomers may be tuned to match thermal and force parameters required in read-write-erase cycles. Additionally, the cross-linked polyimide oligomers are suitable for use in nano-scale imaging.

Die Vitamin-tragenden Untereinheiten weisen einen Carbonat-Hauptkettenteil und eine Seitenkette auf, die eine kovalent gebundene Form eines Vitamins aufweist. Die gelbildenden Block-Copolymere können zur Herstellung verschiedener biologisch abbaubarer und/oder biokompatibler Hydrogel- und Organogel-Arzneistoff-Zusammensetzungen, insbesondere antimikrobielle und/oder Antitumor-Arzneistoff-Zusammensetzungen verwendet werden. Die Hydrogel-Zusammensetzungen können für Depotinjektionen geeignet sein. Eine synergistische Verstärkung der Toxizität gegenüber Mikroben wurde mit Zusammensetzungen festgestellt, die ein antimikrobielles kationisches Polymer und eine antimikrobielle Verbindung aufweisen.
