Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the heating even by the operation with the high horizontal deflection frequency and improve the winding precision by bundling in parallel multiple conductor fine wires having the first deposition layer made of thermoplastic insulating material and the second deposition layer made of thermoplastic insulating material with a lower melting point to constitute the conductor wire of an deflecting coil. CONSTITUTION:Multiple fine wires 2 are merely bundled without being twisted, they are heated so that only the second deposition layer 5b made of the fine wires 2 with a lower melting point is melted. They are then cooled, the fine wires 2 are temporarily fixed together to form a unit conductor wire. This unit conductor wire 1 is wound on a deflecting coil former and molded. In this case, it is precisely wound without being untangled because the fine wires 2 are temporarily fixed together. Each unit conductor wire 1 can be wound at high density because the fine wires 2 are twisted together. After the unit conductor wire 1 is wound and molded, the first deposition layer 5a is heated and melted and cooled, thereby the unit conductor wire 1 is fixed together to form a deflecting coil.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To invariably obtain a good beam landing characteristic by constituting a holder with a coupling section having a hole hooked with the stud pin of a panel and a fixing section fixed to a frame and providing a bent section on part of the panel side between the fixing section and coupling section. CONSTITUTION:The first stainless member 31 serving as the coupling section of a holder 30 is constituted of a support face 31b having a support hole 34 coupled with a stud pin 20 and a slant face 31a continued to it. The second stainless member 32 serving as a sticking section is constituted of a bent section 32a bent in parallel with the slant face 31a of the first stainless member 31, with the panel-side section serving as the coupling section and a fixing section 32b continued to it and parallel with the outside wall face of a frame 11. That is, no machining section exists near the panel side end section of the coupling section of the holder 30;external shocks are absorbed by the slant face of the coupling section; thus the permanent deformation of the holder is mitigated. Accordingly, an invariably good beam landing characteristic is obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make temperature during operation of a frame restrainable, by making a heat radiation rate of the mask frame large than that in the same temperature of a shadow mask. CONSTITUTION:At a position proximately opposed to a phosphor screen 4, plural slitlike openings, being supported of their peripheral parts by a mask frame consisting of iron material and about 1.2 X 10 deg in its thermal expansion coefficient, are disposed in a vertical direction. Likewise, a lot of shadow masks 5 disposed in a horizontal direction are supported via elastic members 12. This shadow mask 5 is composed of a 36% Ni-Fe alloy, namely, a so-called fan bar material as in 1.2X 10 deg smaller as compared with the iron material. With this constitution, any partial deformation in the shadow mask 5 during operation by a thermal expansion difference between the shadow mask 5 and the mask frame 7 can be prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress temperature rise of a magnetic material by forming a coating having larger thermal conductivity than a magnetic piece on the surface of the magnetic material composing a deflection device. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic piece 50 consists, for example, of a silicon steel plate and on the surface of said silicon steel plate a ceramic layer 10 is formed. Said ceramic layer is made by a method wherein suspension of silicon containing silicon carbide (SiC) and an alkoxide compound of zirconium, for example, ZrSi(OC4H9)4 is applied as a filler by a spraying method to form an about 10mum thick coating followed by heat treatment. Thereby, temperature rise of a magnetic material can be suppressed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a shadow mask structure to be easily produced with good precision by adjusting the outer diameter of the main screen of a shadow mask and the inner diameter of the perpendicular periphery of a mask frame according to a given formula. CONSTITUTION:The dimension (OM) of the main screen 7a of a shadow mask and the inner diameter (IF) of a mask frame 8, or the longitudinal distance between the inner surfaces of facing areas of the perpendicular periphery 8a of the mask frame 8 are adjusted according to the formula OM>=IF. The mask frame 8 is heated during the step of combining the shadow mask 7 and the mask frame 8 to increase the inner diameter of the perpendicular periphery 8a to IF' thereby making the inner diameter of the perpendicular periphery 8a larger than the outer diameter (OM) or (Om) of the shadow mask 8. By the means mentioned above, the shadow mask 7 can be easily combined with the mask frame 8. Consequently, it is possible to make a shadow mask structure easily with good precision.

The length (l) of the areas 17a and 17b of the neck getters 20a and 20b is adjusted to be almost equal to the maximum distance (2S) between the electron beams 8B, 8G and 8R. When these neck getters 20a and 20b are connected to the pointed end of an electron gun, an almost uniform deflecting magnetic field can be produced in the area through which the electron beams 8B, 8g and 8R pass even when the getter material contains a magnetic powder such as nickel powder.

In this case, the engaging portion 24 is fitted over the pin 2 for engagement therebetween in such a manner that the space interval between the engaging portion 24 and the skirt portion 10 of the panel 11 is made smaller at the panel 11 opening side than at the screen 13 side.

CONSTITUTION:Ring-shaped permanent magnets 11 having magnetic poles on both planes are arranged on both sides of a ring-shaped ferromagnet 10 coaxially in the same magnetic pole direction, and ring-shaped magnetic substances 14 are arranged coaxially on both outsides of the magnets 11 respectively. The axial thickness t1, t2 of the ferromagnet 10 and the magnets 11 and the inner diameter d1 of the magnetic substances 14 are specified to be so as that a magnetic flux density distribution having at least three inflection points is produced in the positive magnetic flux density distribution region on the arrangement axis. Thereby even when focus magnets of the same axial length are used, the half value width of the density distribution can be made large, and it can be made equivalent to a mutiple-group lens because of three inflection points, and the spherical aberration of the main lens can be reduced to make the beam spot diameter small.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent mis-landing due to repulsion among electron beams by setting horizontal overlap among three electron beams to be a half of a radius of an electron beam in the horizontal directly or below to cause a different delay among the three electron beams. CONSTITUTION:An electron gun 6 is of in-line type and consists of a B electron gun 16, a G electron gun 17, and an R electron gun 18. Then a delay time 27 is given to the B electron gun 16 and a delay time gamma is set to the G electron gun 17 with respect to the R electron gun 18 as a reference, where gamma is a half of the radius of an electron beam on a panel in the horizontal direction. The three electron beams are subject to deflection scanning by a deflection yoke 7 mounted to the outside of a funnel 4. Thus, the three electron beams are not overlapped at the same time and then an orbit portion causing repulsion among the electron beams close to each other is remarkably reduced and a picture with excellent color purity is obtained even at a high brightness.
