PURPOSE: A pulverization process of ginseng for improving ginsenoside extraction efficiency is provided to pulverize ginseng in 10 μm size in constant conditions to improve ginsenoside extraction efficiency compared to conventional coarse pulverization. CONSTITUTION: A pulverization process of ginseng comprises the step of pulverizing ginseng into 10 μm diameter at 30 ~ -196°C. The average particle size of the ginseng powder is 1.3 μm or less. The temperature is adjusted by a pulverizing cylinder or a member that is mixed with ginseng to control the temperature within a range of 30 ~ -196°C. The member represents dry ice or liquid nitrogen. A mixing ratio of the dry ice or liquid nitrogen to the ginseng is 0.5-1.5 to 1.

PURPOSE: A Chrysanthemum indicum L. is provided to enhance anti-oxidation and anti-lung cancer activity and improve productivity of Chrysanthemum indicum L. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing Chrysanthemum indicum L. extract with anti-oxidation and anti-lung cancer activities comprises: a step of selecting Chrysanthemum indicum L. with 0.8-1.2 cm of flower diameter; a step of drying in a far infrared ray drier for 40 minutes to enhance the anti-oxidation and anti-lung cancer activities; and a step of extracting Chrysanthemum indicum L. using alcohol then concentrating.

PURPOSE: A raisin with increased antioxidant activity and a preparation method thereof are provided to remove oxidized flavor during preservation, thereby exhibiting pleasing taste and flavor. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a raisin with increased antioxidant activity through a far-infrared drying process comprises the following steps of: irradiating far infrared rays to grapes; and drying them to obtain the raisin with increased antioxidant activity. The far infrared rays emit a wavelength within a range of 2 ~ 14 μm. The far infrared rays are irradiated at 40 ~ 120°C for 5-60 minutes. The increase in antioxidant activity represents the increase in polyphenol content. The polyphenol is selected from the group consisting of catechin, epicatechin, epigallocatechin gallate, gallic acid, resveratrol, epigallocatechin, and quercetin.

A method for mass-producing an Oplopanax elatus Nakai plantlet is provided to mass-propagate the Oplopanax elatus Nakai effectively from embryogenetic callus derived from an Oplopanax elatus Nakai tissue, thereby preserving endangered Oplopanax elatus Nakai. A method for mass-producing an Oplopanax elatus Nakai plantlet comprises the steps of: (a) explanting a tissue segment of Oplopanax elatus Nakai a cell tissue cultures in an MS culture medium where a plant growth control material including TDZ is added to induce embryogenetic callus; (b) culturing the induced embryogenetic callus in a liquid culture medium or a solid culture medium to induce somatic embryos; (c) culturing the induced somatic embryos in a liquid culture medium or a solid culture medium to propagate them; (d) culturing the propagated somatic embryos in a liquid culture medium or a solid culture medium having a pH of 5.0-5.75 to redifferentiate a plantlet; and (e) acclimatizing the redifferentiated plantlet in a soil where bed soil and sand are mixed in a ratio of 1:1, wherein the culture medium of the step(a) is an MS culture medium where 2,4-D or NAA is further added as the plant growth controlling material. An extract of Hibiscus cannabinus L.(Malvaceae) and a novel kaempferol compound isolated therefrom are provided to inhibit growth of microorganisms, oxidation and aging in the skin without side effects, so that they are useful in medicines, cosmetics and functional food for improving skin beauty. An extract of Hibiscus cannabinus L. having improved antimicrobial and antioxidizing effects is prepared by extracting Hibiscus cannabinus L. with a solvent selected from water, aliphatic alcohol or alcohol solution, hexane, chloroform and ethylacetate. A novel kaempferol compound represented by the formula(1) is isolated from the extract of Hibiscus cannabinus L. by extracting Hibiscus cannabinus L. with methanol, extracting the crude methanol extract with water, aliphatic alcohol, alcohol solution, hexane, chloroform or ethylacetate to obtain a water layer and an organic layer, and subjecting the water layer and organic layer to silica chromatography, gel filtration chromatography and HPLC(high performance liquid chromatography), sequentially.

Healthy tea with kenaf leaves and a preparation method thereof are provided to facilitate the elution of active ingredients in extraction in hot water by treating the leaves with heat and far infrared ray in a fixed condition, thereby substituting the same for green tea. Healthy tea with kenaf leaves is prepared by the steps of: heating kenaf leaves at 60~100°C for 10~45min; and applying far infrared ray to the leaves at 1.6kw for 10~45min while keeping the temperature at 60~100°C. In the preparation process, large quantities of minerals and antioxidant ingredients are extracted from the kenaf leaves. The extract is especially rich in kaempferols as a polyphenol compound. In addition, the content of physiologically active ingredients in the kenaf leaves is higher than that in green tea leaves.
