Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing self-releasing, compact or cellular moulded bodies optionally containing reinforcing agents and made of polyisocyanate polyaddition products by reacting a) organic and/or modified organic polyisocyanates with b) at least one compound with at least two reactive hydrogen atoms and a molecular weight of 500 to 9,000 and optionally c) chain extension and/or cross-linking agents in the presence of d) alkyl and/or alkenyl succinic acid monoamides, -monoamides, poly(alkyl succinic acid)- and/or poly(alkenyl succinic acid)-polyamides, -polyimides, -monoamide monoimides, -polyamide imides, -amide polyimides and- polyamide polyimides or mixtures thereof as internal mould release agents, and also in the presence or absence of e) catalysts, f) blowing agents, g) reinforcing agents, h) auxiliary agents, in an open or closed moulding tool, optionally under compression. The invention also relates to the use of alkyl- and/or alkenyl succinic acid amides and/or imides (d) as internal mould release agents for the preparation of moulded bodies made of polyisocyanate polyaddition products.

Abstract: In a process for producing modified rubber moulding materials, a first mixture (A) that contains at least one alkyl acrylate or methacrylate (a) having the general formula (I), in which R stands for a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and R stands for an alkyl group with 1 to 32 carbon atoms, a first monomer (b) with two or more double bonds and optionally a second or several other monomers (c), is in a first step polymerised into a rubber (B), preferably together with free radicals. Abstract: Expandable styrene polymers (I) for elastic polystyrene foam contain (a) 75-98 wt.% polystyrene and/or styrene copolymer contg. at least 50% polystyrene, (b) 2-25 wt.% styrene-soluble elastomer(s), (c) 1-15 wt.% w.r.t. (a)+(b), of low-boiling blowing agent(s) and opt. (d) usual additives in effective amts. The unfoamed beads have a structure in which the elastomer phase is dispersed in the polystyrene phase in the form of cell particles. Also claimed are a method of producing (I), elastic foam with a density of 5-70 g/l, prepd. from (I), and a method of making mouldings from (I). Pref. (I) contains 95-93 wt.% (a) and 7-15 wt.% (b). (b) has Tg below 20 degrees C and esp. is polybutadiene. The cell particles have a dia. of 0.1-10, esp. 0.5-5 microns.

Abstract: The present invention relates to transparent essentially non-cellular polyurethane casting compositions that are sterilizable with superheated steam which are prepared by reacting: (A) modified diphenylmethane diisocyanates (A) liquid at 23 DEG C. obtained by reacting (A1) 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate or (A2) 2,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate or (A3) a diphenylmethane diisocyanate mixture with (A4) at least one polyoxypropylene polyol and/or (A5) at least one polyoxypropylene polyoxyethylene polyol containing 1 to 80 weight percent of ethylene oxide units whereby (A4) and (A5) have a functionality of 4 to 8 and a hydroxyl number of 150 to 500 and are obtained while using sucrose and/or preferably sorbitol as initiator molecules (A6) a mixture of (A4) and/or (A5) and at least one polyoxypropylene polyol and/or polyoxyethylene polyol initiated with glycerine and/or trimethylolpropane in a NCO:OH group ratio of 2.5:1 to 15:1 with (B) at least one compound having at least reactive hydrogen atoms which preferably contains no primary, secondary or tertiary amino groups in bonded form in the presence of or absence of (C) catalysts. The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of polyurethane casting compositions and their use for medical-technical articles.

Abstract: The invention relates to fibre composites consisting of prepreg layers which are bonded to one another by intermediate layers. The prepreg layers consist of laid webs impregnated with curable resins. The intermediate layers contain regions of flexible polymer films which cover 10 to 90% of the surface of the prepreg layers. The polymer films are applied as an aqueous dispersion to the prepreg layers, and the layers are pressed after removal of the water. The composites are suitable as structural components for the aerospace industry and in the automotive industry.
