Abstract: A process is disclosed for preparing D,L-aspartic acid by heating aqueous solutions of ammonium salts of the maleic acid. The molar ratio of maleic acid to ammonia ranges from 1:1 to 1:50. The process is carried out at temperatures from 60 to 250 DEG C and pressures of at least 1 bar. The pressure applied during the reaction is adjusted to ensure that the reaction mixture is almost completely present in liquid phase. Excess ammonia is removed and the reaction solution is acidified so as to release D,L-aspartic acid, which is then isolated.

Abstract: A process is disclosed for preparing polyaspartic acid salts by treating polycondensates in an aqueous medium with bases. At least 0.7 equivalents of an alkaline metal and/or alkaline earth metal base per mole of the aspartic acid, aspartic acid imide and/or amide units contained in the polycondensates are used. The bases are added during 30 minutes to 20 hours to an aqueous suspension of the polycondensates of aspartic acid heated up to 40 to 140 DEG C, and the reaction mixture is optionally allowed to continue to react. These alkaline metal and/or alkaline earth metal salts of polyaspartic acids obtained by treating aspartic acid polycondensates in an aqueous medium with more than 1 equivalent of an alkaline metal and/or alkaline earth metal base for reducing the molar mass of polycondensates are used as additives for washing and cleaning agents.

Abstract: Empleo de polímeros solubles en agua de ésteres del ácido acrílico, del ácido metacrílico y de alquilpolialquilenglicoles, que pueden ser obtenidos mediante esterificación azeotrópica de una mezcla de ácido acrílico (A), de ácido metacrílico (B) y de un alquilpolialquilenglicol (C) con un peso molecular M w comprendida entre 350 y 4.000, en el que la proporción molar entre (A) y (C) toma un valor de 0,1 hasta 4 : 1, la proporción molar entre (B) y (C) toma un valor desde 1 hasta 5 : 1 y la proporción molar de la suma formada por (A) y (B) sobre (C) toma un valor de 2 hasta 6 : 1, en presencia de un disolvente orgánico, que forme un azeótropo con agua, al menos en un 85% en peso, referido al alquilpolialquilenglicol (C), y a continuación polimerización, en medio acuoso, por medio de radicales de la mezcla formada durante la esterificación, eliminándose por destilación azeotrópica de la mezcla de la reacción el disolvente orgánico durante la polimerización y reciclándose hasta la mezcla el agua separada por destilación o substituyéndose mediante el aporte de agua fresca, como aditivos para sistemas cementosos.
