    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce mis-convergence deteriorating the performance of a color picture tube and to realize the color picture tube suitable for high precision by correcting an effect subjected to an electron beam locus with a force exerting among plural electron beams. CONSTITUTION:A 1st magnetic field correction means 30 is arranged to a position of an electron gun and a magnetic field H is generated as if N, S four pole lens magnets 32 were equivalently formed to four diagonal corners. Thus, electromagnetic coils 30 comprising a couple of loop coils 33, 34 are opposite to each other with a tube axis inbetween and the coil axis is arranged with a tilt by 45 deg. from an inline face. The magnetic field H by the coil 30 is formed reversely at a boundary near a center beam BG and when the electron beam quantity is much, the two electron beams BR, BB at both sides are deflected in a direction parted from the center beam BG to act like magnifying the interval of the three electronic beams in the deflection center face.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress blooming phenomenon in the high current region by forming an approx. circular recess coaxially with an electron beam passinghole in No.1 grid at that surface of a cathode which faces the No.1 grid, and providing an electron emission layer only on the inner surface of this recess. CONSTITUTION:An approx.. circular recess 26 is formed coaxially with the electron beam passing hole 5 in No.1 grid at that surface of a cathode 25K which faces the No.1 grid G1, and an electron emission layer 27 is provided only on the inner surface of this recess. Thereby electrons in the low current region are emitted from an operational region 29L formed in a shallow part near the No.1 grod G1 in the recess 26. The electrons in the high current area, on the other hand, are emitted from the operational region in the low current region and that operational area 29H of the recess 26 which is formed in a part deeper than the low current region operational region. Thereby the assumed crossover dia. can be made small even in the high current region, and also the influence of the aberration due to main electron lens ML in the high current region can be reduced. As a result, blooming phenomenon in the high current region can be suppressed.

The No.3 electrode 30 is located through position alignment of these at least two holes 34, 35, or detention of at least two holes 35 with at least two tooling bosses 41. Thereby a small beam spot can be formed equipped with no distortion as desired.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce deviation of beam landing and improve picture color purity by attaching magnetic field control elements on the inside near four corner parts of a magnetic shielding body while magnetically combining therewith and their idle ends are located on the side of a color selection electrode to the orthogonal direction to a tube axis. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic field control elements 24 are attached on the inside near four corner parts of a magnetic shielding body 22 while magnetically combining therewith and their idle end parts 26 are located on the side of a color selection electrode 4 to the orthogonal direction to a tube axis. Then, even when a picture tube is set up to the east or to the west, a component Bz in the tube axis direction of a leakage magnetic field to an electron beam passing region of an external magnetic field such as earth magnetism can be increased, and said Bz and a vertical axis speed component accompanying deflection of an electron beam can cancel deviation of beam landing. Further, a vertical axial component (By) of the leakage magnetic field can be decreased while similarly cancelling deviation. Thereby, deviation of beam landing can be reduced to obtain a picture having good color purity.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to produce phosphor layers with no relative displacement to electron beam all over the phosphor screen by making the slope of the (X-Z section) of the correction lens for production of phosphor screen parallel to the horizontal axis of the screen at the vertical axis Y=0 uniform and that at arbitrary position on the vertical axis except Y=0 monotone increasing or monotone decreasing as the value of Y. CONSTITUTION:When the horizontal axis of the screen of a picture tube is denoted with X-axis, the vertical axis of which with Y-axis and the vertical axis perpendicular to these both axes with Z-axis, the X-Z section of the correction lens for production of phosphor screen at Y=0 is made to uniform slope and that at arbitrary position on the Y-axis except Y=0 is made to monotone increasing or monotone decreasing slope as the value of Y. Thus the surface of the correction lens 20 can be expressed as Z=-X.tan(C0+C1Y), where C0, C1 are surface coefficients. Thereby when the correction lens for production of phosphor screen is constructed as above the deviation of electron beams to phosphor layers in respective portions of phosphor screen can be corrected in optimum condition to produce phosphor layers with no relative displacement to electron beams all over the screen.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide good beam landing characteristic at all times by coupling a fixing part for fixation to a mask frame with a support for fitting of a stud pin through a bend, and by furnishing a member to prevent twisting. CONSTITUTION:Close to a screen a shadow mask 18 is arranged between the screen 15 and an electron gun 16. The periphery of the mask 18 is fixed to a mask frame 19, and springs 40 are welded fast to the outsides of the four corners of this frame 19. A stainless steel member 42 as fixing part is fixed to the frame 19, and a support surface 413 is provided which has a support hole 44 fitted on a stud pin 22 at another stainless steel member 41 as a support. The spring 40 has a bend 400 between the stainless steel members 41, 42, which the last named has a twist preventive part 421 with two wings protruding as extended toward the stud pin 22 from the joint surface with the peripheral wall of the frame 19 at the two sides pinching the shaft of the stud pin 22. Thus deformation due to fitting/removal and shocks is suppressed to provide good beam landing characteristic at all times.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To ristrict deterioration of color purity caused by pertial thermal disformation of a shadow mask by making a radius of curvature in Y-axis direction smaller on the periphery than that in the center of a faceplate on the crossing line of the rectangle-shaped effective curved surface of a panel with Y axis. CONSTITUTION:A color picture tube is provided with a panel 24 having a rectangle-shaped effective curved surface, a fluorescent screen 30 formed on the inner surface of this panel 24 and a curved surface-shaped shadow mask 36 having an effective curved surface in which many holes are formed through which electron beams pass. A radius of curvature in Y-axis direction on a crossing line of this panel effective curved surface with Y-axis (a minor axis) is made smaller on the periphery than that in the center of a faceplate. Accordingly, it is possible to ristrict deterioration due to disformation while restricting thermal disformation of the shadow mask 36 and also to give a reflected image with no sense of incompatibility.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To effectively control the thermal deformation of a shadow mask regardless of the flatness of a faceplate by forming a curved surface shadow mask into a specific shape. CONSTITUTION:The Z-axis is set in the tube axis direction of a color cathode- ray tube, the long X-axis is set in the horizontal direction of a shadow mask, and the short Y axis is set vertically to it. The Z-axis direction distance between a top point M1 on the X-Z axis plane of the intersecting line Y2 between the plane parallel to the Y-Z axis and the effective curved surface of the shadow mask and a point N1 or N'1 at the effective end section of the longitudinal side, i.e., the height on the cross section parallel to the short Y-axis of the shadow mask, is increased as it approaches the effective end section P of the X-axis from the Y-axis (X=0) gradually at first and becomes maximum at the middle point M1 then is decreased gradually. It is slightly larger at the end section P than on the Y-axis. Accordingly, the mislanding of the shadow mask due to the thermal deformation can be effectively corrected.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a color picture tube of good workability and high mass productivity by constructing the holder with a fixing portion and an attaching portion and providing a bent portion on the screen side end portion of the locking member fixed to the attaching portion. CONSTITUTION:The screen 4 side end portion 13a of a locking member 13 is bent in the direction aparting from the side wall of a panel 1 to form the bending portion 130, and the screen side end portion 13a is fixed to the connecting portion 12b of the holder by welding. Even if the holder 12 is bent to attach or detach the shadow mask in the panel 1, the end portion having a sharp edge is not touched to the stud pin 10 especially for the sake of the said bending portion 130 on the screen side end portion 13a. Thereby even if the locking member 13 is contacted to the stud pin 10, the chance of producing the damage of the stud pin 10 or the deformation of the holder can be reduced significantly to improve the workability greatly.
