Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing impact resistant plastics on the basis of cross-linked rubber particles. The inventive method comprises the following steps: (a) producing an aqueous dispersion or suspension of particles of a cross-linked rubber from a first monomer mixture that has a conjugated diene content of less than 50 wt.- %, preferably less than 5 wt.- %, especially less than 2 wt.- %, (b) optionally precipitating the dispersion or suspension whereby an aqueous rubber particle mixture with a water content of at least 5 wt.- % is obtained, (c) adding said dispersion or suspension of the rubber particles or the aqueous rubber particle mixture to a second mixture that contains at least one further monomer, and (d) polymerizing the monomers of the second mixture. The invention also relates to the plastic obtained according to the inventive method.
