    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a vanadium trichloride component (1) for Ziegler catalyst systems, characterised in that the vanadium trichloride component (1) is prepared by (1.1), in a first step, keeping a suspension of (1.1.1) a finely divided vanadium trichloride, (1.1.2) an alkanol, and (1.1.3) a liquid hydrocarbon which is inert towards the vanadium trichloride (1.1.1), at a certain temperature for a certain time with constant mixing, and then (1.2), optionally and advantageously, in a second step, (1.2.1) combining the suspension obtained from the first step (1.1) with (1.2.2) a hydrocarbon-organic aluminium compound and keeping the mixture at a certain temperature for a certain time with constant mixing, and obtaining the novel vanadium trichloride catalyst component (1) in this way by means of the solid present in suspended form after step (1.1) or (1.2). This allows polymers having particular property combinations to be prepared.

    Abstract: The thermoplastic moulding compositions contain - based on the sum of A and B - A: from 75 to 97% by weight of a polystyrene A as the hard matrix, B: from 3 to 25% by weight of a particulate, rubber-elastic (co)polymer B essentially based on butadiene or copolymers thereof, itself comprising - based on B - B1: from 40 to 98% by weight of a (co)polymer B1 having a mean particle size of from 100 to 600 nm, B2: from 2 to 60% by weight of a particle mixture B2 which is itself built up from - based on B2 - B21: from 1 to 60% by weight of a (co)polymer B21 having a mean particle size of from 200 to 1200 nm, and B22: from 40 to 99% by weight of a (co)polymer B22 having a mean particle size of from 1200 to 8000 nm, where the (co)polymer B1 has a capsule particle morphology and the (co)polymers B21 and B22 have a cell and/or entangled particle morphology.
