    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for carrying out the distillative separation of C5+ cuts into a low boiler fraction (A), a medium boiler fraction (B) and into a high boiler fraction (C) inside one or more partition columns (TK). A partition (T) is arranged inside said partition column(s) in a longitudinal direction of the column(s) while forming an upper common column area (1), a lower common column area (6), a feed part (2, 4) having a reinforcing part (2) and stripping part (4), as well as while forming a withdrawal part (3, 5) also having a reinforcing part (5) and stripping part (3). The inventive method involves the following steps: supplying the C5+ cuts (A, B, C) in the middle area of the feed part (2, 4); discharging the high boiler fraction (C) out of the bottom of the column; discharging the low boiler fraction (A) via the top of the column, and; discharging the middle boiler fraction (B) out of the middle area of the withdrawal part (3, 5). The dividing up ratio of the liquid reflux at the upper end of the partition (T) is set such that the proportion of high-boiling key constituents in the liquid reflux above the stripping part (3) of the withdrawal part at the upper end of the partition (T) ranges from 10 to 80 %, preferably, from 30 to 50 % of the limiting value permitted in the middle boiler fraction (B). In addition, the heating capacity in the bottom evaporator of the partition column (TK) is set such that the concentration of the light-boiling key constituents in the liquid at the lower end of the partition (T) ranges from 10 to 80 %, preferably, from 30 to 50 % of the limiting value permitted in the middle boiler fraction (B).

    Abstract: Distillation apparatus, consisting of a partitioned column or a system of thermally coupled distillation columns, includes inlet lines for a hydrocarbon mixture, hydrogen and alcohol, outlet lines for low, medium and high boilers and heterogeneous hydrogenation and etherification catalysts, all located in specific segments of the apparatus. In operation hydrogen is obtained as low boiler and ether as high boiler. Distillation apparatus consists of a partitioned column or a system of thermally coupled distillation columns, including the following segments: (a) highest region of the overall arrangement; (b) concentration region of the feed unit; (c) distillation region of the feed unit; (d) upper region of the withdrawal unit; (e) lower region of the withdrawal unit; and (f) lowest region of the overall arrangement. Also provided are: a hydrocarbon mixture inlet point between segments (b) and (c); a medium boilers outlet point between (d) and (e); a low boilers outlet point in (a); a low boilers outlet point in (f); at least one hydrogen inlet point below (a); at least one alcohol inlet point in (a), (b) and/or (c); inserts containing a heterogeneous hydrogenation catalyst in (a), (d), (e) and/or (f); and inserts containing a heterogeneous etherification catalyst in (a), (b), (c) and/or (f). In operation hydrogen is obtained as low boiler and ether as high boiler. An Independent claim is included for a process for reactive distillation of hydrocarbon mixtures using the apparatus.

    Abstract: The preparation of olefins from steam cracker or refinery C4 streams is carried out by A) if desired, extractive distillation of butadiene from the C4 stream using a butadiene-selective solvent, B) selective hydrogenation of butadienes and acetylenic impurities in the steam cracker or refinery C4 stream or the stream from step A), with simultaneous or subsequent, at least partial isomerization of 1-butene to 2-butene, C) removal of i-butene from the C4 stream obtained in step B) by reaction with an alcohol to form an ether, D) removal of oxygen-containing impurities from the C4 stream obtained in step C) using adsorber materials, E) two-stage metathesis of the butenes in the C4 stream obtained in step D) by conversion of 1-butene and 2-butene present in the C4 stream into propene and 2-pentene and subsequent reaction of the 2-pentene with ethene in the presence of a metathesis catalyst to form propene and 1-butene.
