Abstract: PURPOSE: An optical repeater and optical signal amplification method are provided to reduce influence on noise generated from amplification operation for specific optical signals by controlling the amplification operation. CONSTITUTION: An UL(UpLink) optical amplification apparatus(144) amplifies an input UL optical signal from an input optical signal. When an UL stream is detected from the input UL optical signal, a control unit(147) amplifies the input UL optical signal by controlling the UL optical amplifier. When the UL stream is not detected from the input UL optical signal, a control circuit stops the amplification operation for the input UL optical signal by controlling the UL optical amplifier.

Abstract: 수동형 광가입자망에서 광 가입자 단말의 장애를 감지하기 위한 기술이 개시된다. 광 가입자 단말을 구성하는 광 모듈은 광신호를 출력하는 레이저 다이오드; 상기 레이저 다이오드를 구동시키 위한 레이저 다이오드 구동부; 상기 레이저 다이오드에서 출력되는 광신호를 전기적 신호로 변환하는 변환부; 상기 변환된 전기적 신호의 직류 성분을 제거하는 직류 성분 제거부; 및 상기 직류 성분 제거부로부터 출력된 전기적 신호를 분석하여 그 분석 결과에 따라 상기 레이저 다이오드 구동부를 비활성화시키는 제어부;를 포함한다. 이에 의해 광가입자망에서 광신호 전송 장애가 발생하는 것을 막을 수 있다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A resource allocation method for supporting dynamic QoS based on a next generation network in a passive optical network is provided to allocate the QoS resources requested by a subscriber terminal to a passive optical network through the linkage with a dynamic next generation network integrated session control network system. CONSTITUTION: An OLT(Optical Line Terminal)(100) is connected to a GPON(Gigabit Passive Optical Network), and a subscriber terminal(120) transfers a DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) request message to the OLT to set up an IP address. The OLT transfers the DHCP request message to a DHCP server(300). The DHCP server processes the DHCP request, and stores the MAC(Medium Access Control) address and an IP address of the subscriber terminal.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A burst mode optical repeater is provided to increase transmission distance and the number of subscribers. CONSTITUTION: An optical receiver(110) receives a weak optical signal transmitted from an optical network unit to an uplink, and an optical transmitter(120) transmits the optical signal received through the optical receiver to an optical line terminal. A delay controller(130) generates a burst enable signal from the strength of the optical signal received by the optical reception unit, and the optical signal transmitted through the optical transmission unit has a burst characteristic by using the signal. The optical receiver optically converts the received optical signal into an electrical signal.

Abstract: An optical transceiver is provided to improve receiving quality by reducing crosstalk between optical receiving and transmitting elements on a silicon substrate using a dummy ground line formed on the substrate. An operation transceiver includes a photoelectric transducer and an optical signal transfer unit. The photoelectric transducer is disposed on a substrate and includes a light transmitting device(2210), a high speed signal line(2220), and a bias line(2230) for the light transmitting device. The light transmitting device converts an electrical signal to an optical signal. A light receiving device(2260), a high speed signal line(2270), and a bias line(2280) for the light receiving device are also included in the photoelectric transducer. The light receiving device converts the optical signal to an electrical signal. A first dummy ground line(2290) is adjacent to the high speed signal line of the light transmitting device. A second dummy ground line(2295) is adjacent to the high speed signal line of the light receiving device. The optical signal transfer unit is connected to the photoelectric transducer and delivers the received optical signal to the light receiving device. The optical signal from the light transmitting device is transferred to an optical fiber by the optical signal transfer unit.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A bidirectional transceiver module for an optical subscriber line is provided to have an integrated transceiver chip, a silicon bench, and an optical fiber, so as to perform a transceiving using two different wavelengths and using a single wavelength as well. CONSTITUTION: An integrated transceiver chip(100) comprises as follows. A spot size converter(120) is integrated in front of an LD(Laser Diode)(110), and converts a mode size of a transmitting light released from the LD(110). A monitor photodiode(130) is integrated into the spot size converter(120), and detects portions of a transmission light waveguided through the spot size converter(120), then monitors the transmission light. A detector photodiode(140) is integrated on the monitor photodiode(130), and detects a receiving light incident through an optical fiber(300). A silicon bench(200) comprises as follows. A 'U'-shaped groove(201) formed on a substrate reflects the receiving light on the detector photodiode(140). A 'V'-shaped groove(202) is overlapped on one end of the substrate with the 'U'-shaped groove(201). A reflection interception wall(203) formed between the 'U'-shaped groove(201) and the 'V'-shaped groove(202) intercepts the transmission light reflected from the optical fiber(300) or the 'V'-shaped groove(202). An end of the optical fiber(300) is faced with the integrated transceiver chip(100), and formed with a slope truncation conic shape, to make a core part of the optical fiber(300) have a slope angle.
