Abstract:
A transmitter-receiver unit is disclosed wherein a frame (4) is provided with solder-rise preventing means (H) between a circuit board (1) and retaining portions (4c), thereby preventing solder from rising up to the retaining portions (4c). Thus, the engagement between engaging holes (6c) and the retaining portions (4c) is ensured in comparison with the prior art. The transmitter-receiver unit permits a cover (6) to be mounted positively to the frame (4) and is suitable for the reduction of size and weight.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An electrical connector (10) of the type having an array of signal contacts surface mountable to pads of a circuit board (20), with at least one ground bus (40) having a row of post sections (44,50,52) insertable into through holes (34) of the circuit board. At least two of the post sections (50,52) include protuberances (54,56) proximate free ends thereof adapted to bear against side walls of the respective through holes (34) upon insertion thereinto, for deflection of the shanks (62,64) of the post sections (50,52) in the opposite direction. The protuberances (54,56) of the at least two post sections (50,52) extend in opposed directions along the row of post sections (44,50,52), thus cooperating to act as a clamp of modest force to retain the connector (10) to the board (20) prior to contact soldering. The deflectable shank (62,64) preferably has a reduced cross-sectional area at root (66,68) facilitating deflection in the plastic region.
Abstract:
An electrical connector assembly (10) is provided for mounting on a printed circuit board (12) which includes at least a pair of mounting post-receiving holes (24) and at least one solder tail-receiving aperture (25). The assembly includes a housing (18) having at least a pair of mounting posts (22) for positioning in the holes (24) in the printed circuit board. At least one contact member (34) is mounted on the housing (18) and includes a solder tail (44) for positioning in the aperture (58) in the printed circuit board. The solder tail (44) has a generally straight side (44a) and a projecting hook (44b) on an opposite side (44c) for retaining the connector assembly on the printed circuit board. The width of the solder tail between the straight side (44a) and the outermost point of the hook (44b) on the opposite side (44c) is no greater than the width of the aperture (58), and the centerline (57) of the solder tail (44) between its sides is offset, in the direction of the hook, relative to the centerline (60) of the aperture (58) when the mounting posts (22) are aligned with the holes (24) in the printed circuit board (12).

Abstract:
The invention relates to contact pins (110) for providing an electrical connection between electronic devices. In one aspect the pin is adapted to be inserted into a hole (101) of a circuit carrier (100) and the pin comprises at least three portions; namely a contact termination portion (111), an electrical contact portion (112) and a mechanical fastening portion (123). The mechanical fastening portion preferably allows a fastening of the contact pin without any soldering.
Abstract:
An electronic component mounting structure includes a board (110) and an electronic component (130) mounted on a front surface of the board (110). The board (110) includes lands (112). The electronic component (130) includes a body (131) and terminals (132) extending from the body (131).
