Abstract: PURPOSE: A curtain airbag device of a vehicle is provided to prevent a passenger from colliding with a section that is not protected by an impact protection section or getting out of a vehicle because an extended section is continuously formed on the leading end of the impact protection section. CONSTITUTION: A curtain airbag device of a vehicle comprises a broadside collision sensor(10), an ECU(Electronic Control Unit,20), an inflator(30), and an air bag cushion. The ECU receives a sensing signal from the broadside collision sensor. The inflator receives a signal from the ECU and supplies gas. The air bag cushion is installed in a side rail(42) of a roof side panel(40) of a vehicle and comprises an impact protection section(52) and an extended section(54). In the impact protection section, a plurality of chambers(52a) are consecutively formed to inflate with the gas supplied from the inflator. The extended section is consecutively formed from the leading end of the impact protection section to the front of the vehicle. The gas is supplied to the extended section with a certain time difference from the chambers of the impact protection section.
