    Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for damping noise of a manual transmission is provided to prevent transferring vibration and noise from the transmission to a transmission lever, and improve inner silence. CONSTITUTION: A damping device includes a vibration sensor(12) installed in one side of a cable connected to a transmission(4) and detecting frequency of vibration transferred from the transmission to the cable; an actuator(16) installed in one side of a transmission lever(2) and occurring vibration having constant phase, an ECU(Electric Control Unit) detecting the phase according to the signal from the vibration sensor and driving an actuator to occur the phase signal of opposite phase. The vibration transferred from the transmission to the cable(6,8) is detected in the vibration sensor and frequency band of vibration is sent to the ECU if vibration and noise is occurred. The ECU detects the phase and finds out the final phase as judging transformation of the phase when the frequency phase, detected in the transmission according the length of the cable from the transmission to the transmission lever, is transferred to the side of the transmission lever. The ECU transfers the phase signal to the actuator. The actuator occurs the vibration having the phase of the opposite phase in the cable and the noise is reduce.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A reducing apparatus and control method of whine noise for an engine is provided to reduce noise and improve quality of sound of the engine by reducing vibration of a chain installed to transmit power of a crank shaft to a cam shaft. CONSTITUTION: A reducing apparatus and control method of whine noise for an engine comprises a displacement sensor(30), a low pass filter(32), a DSP(Digital Signal Processing System) board(36), an electronic control unit(40) and an actuator(50). The displacement sensor measures vibration displacement of a chain(20). The low pass filter removes high frequency wave of a displacement signal measured from the displacement sensor. The DSP board converts a signal passed through the low pass filter into a digital signal and the digital signal from the electronic control unit into an analog signal. The electronic control unit analyzes a phase and a size after being inputted the converted signal from the DSP board. The actuator presses the chain with force by outputting phase and size analyzed from the electronic control unit and antiphase and size. Therefore, whine noise of the chain is reduced during operating the chain.

CONSTITUTION: A guide pipe(10) is inserted into an outlet of a bypass passage(5) to directly supply air discharged via the guide pipe to the central portion of a surge tank(4). One outlet(11) of the guide pipe is placed in the central portion of the surge tank opposite to an engine. As the air supplied to the surge tank through the bypass passage is injected to the central portion of the surge tank, an explosive sound due to the collision of air to the side of the surge tank is avoided. As the outlet of the guide pipe faces to be opposite to the engine, the air discharged through the guide pipe is supplied to the engine after being injected opposite to the engine. Then, air is distributed over the entire area of the surge tank. Therefore, air pressure becomes uniform and noise occurring due to pressure difference is reduced.
