Abstract: PURPOSE: An improved exhaust manifold is provided to increase the temperature of flux and a carrier by flowing exhaust gas in the shaft direction of a mixing pipe and to enhance the durability of the carrier by regularly guiding the exhaust gas to the carrier. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust manifold comprises a runner(10) exhausting gas after an explosion process by connecting to each cylinder; and a mixing pipe(11) passing a catalyst by putting exhaust gas together. The runner changes the connecting end to the mixing pipe and changes the section of the mixing pipe. Therefore, exhaust gas flows in the shaft direction of the mixing pipe and regularly contacts with the catalyst. The second and the third runner are integrally formed in the mixing pipe in a bent degree lower than before and the first and the fourth runner are made up with the second and the third runner in the curvature similar to the second and the third runner. Thus, exhaust gas from each runner regularly contacts with the catalyst along the mixing pipe.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A catalysis controlling method and a device of an inner combustion engine are provided to make the catalysis approach the reacting temperature by burning mixed gas in an exhaust gas pipe before starting. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of: cutting off the ignition signal supplied from an ignition module(7) to an ignition plug; supplying the ignition signal from the ignition module to the glow plug(13) installed on the front exhaust gas pipe(9) of the catalysis; discharging the unburned mixed gas from a combustion chamber by operating a starting motor(10) for a certain period, burning in the exhaust gas pipe and reducing the density of the THC and CO contained in the exhaust gas even at starting or idle by making the catalysis approach to the reacting temperature before starting.; Herein, the glow plug installed on the exhaust gas pipe makes the catalysis approach to the reacting temperature in the exhaust gas pipe not in a combustion chamber before starting, and the density of the THC and CO contained in the exhaust gas can be reduced even when starting or being idle.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A flow optimizing exhaust manifold of an internal combustion engine is provided to optimize flow of exhaust gas by streamlining runner pipes of an exhaust manifold and to reduce the amount of exhaust gas by decreasing thermal loss of the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: In an exhaust manifold(20), specific parts(L) of runner pipes(22-25) communicated with cylinders and bent for connection with a mixing pipe(26) are streamlined. According to the streamlined shape of the runner pipes, exhaust gas flowing through the runner pipes is prevented from colliding against the wall of the mixing pipe. Therefore, thermal loss is avoided. As connecting parts of the runner pipes are directly connected to the mixing pipe, the exhaust gas passes with a uniform flow. Thus, the exhaust gas is supplied to a catalyst in a uniformly diffused state and the cleaning efficiency of the exhaust gas is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An exhaust manifold for gasoline engine is provided to reduce hazardous material and achieve an enhanced output characteristic of engine while reducing thermal loss of exhaust gas by altering the shape of a runner pipe.
